Die Suche nach der Undichtigkeit in dem Smart, meiner Frau, stellt sich als echte Herausforderung heraus, vergleichbar mit der berühmten "Nadel im Heuhaufen". Obwohl bereits Schlauchschellen und der Öldruckschalter ausgetauscht wurden, bleibt der genaue Ursprung der Ölflecken rätselhaft. In meinem erneuten Versuch, das Problem zu finden, habe ich den Motor erneut gereinigt und plane eine Testfahrt, gefolgt von einer Inspektion, um mögliche frische Ölflecken zu entdecken.

The search for the leak in my Smart turns out to be a real challenge, comparable to the famous "needle in a haystack". Although hose clamps and the oil pressure switch have already been replaced, the exact origin of the oil stains remains a mystery. In my renewed attempt to find the problem, I have cleaned the engine again and plan a test drive followed by an inspection to discover possible fresh oil stains.

Zuerst dachte ich, dass erneut der Öldruckschalter das Problem sein könnte. Aber warum ist das Kabel nass und der kleine Schlauch ebenfalls? Ich hatte doch die Schlauchschelle nachgezogen. Um einen besseren Überblick zu bekommen, stellte die Antriebswelle eine Herausforderung dar, da sie komplett im Weg war. Nachdem ich alles ausgeleuchtet hatte und versuchte, das mit der Kamera festzuhalten, wo ich nicht direkt hinsehen konnte, gestaltete sich dies als etwas schwierig. Dennoch hat sich der Aufwand gelohnt.

At first I thought that the oil pressure switch could be the problem again. But why is the cable wet and the small hose too? I had tightened the hose clamp. To get a better overview, the drive shaft posed a challenge as it was completely in the way. After I had illuminated everything and tried to capture with the camera what I couldn't see directly, this turned out to be somewhat difficult. Nevertheless, the effort was worth it.

Da entdeckte ich einen kleinen Riss im Schlauch, und die Stelle war schwer einsehbar. Trotzdem ist die Arbeit recht einfach: Der Schlauch der Ölrückführung vom Turbolader muss ersetzt werden. Doch dann kam die nächste Überraschung. Es gibt kein Ersatzteil, weder für den Schlauch noch für die gesamte Ölleitung mit Rückführung. Also begab ich mich auf die Suche nach einem universellen Ölschlauch mit einem Innendurchmesser von 13 mm. Nach etwa einer halben Stunde hatte ich etwas gefunden, das auch Temperaturen von bis zu 100 °C standhält.

I discovered a small crack in the hose and the spot was difficult to see. Nevertheless, the job is quite simple: the oil return hose from the turbocharger needs to be replaced. But then came the next surprise. There is no spare part, neither for the hose nor for the entire oil line with recirculation. So I went in search of a universal oil hose with an inner diameter of 13 mm. After about half an hour, I found something that could withstand temperatures of up to 100 °C.

Jetzt bleibt mir nur noch, auf die Lieferung der Teile zu warten, und dann kann ich auch dieses Problem beheben. Ich hoffe, der kleine Einblick in meine Erfahrungen hat euch gefallen, und ich freue mich darauf, euch beim nächsten Mal wiederzulesen.
