WHEN CHILDREN ARE DETERMINED TO PLAY
Be ready to laugh and feel like spanking them at the same time. Yeah when you see children who are determined to play you most likely have just those two options because what! I had that experience today and I went with the first option, which is laughter. It has been almost two weeks since we went on break after my first semester exam and I've been at home thinking I will rest and then continue when school resumes but then rest has been really hard to settle for because I know there are so many things I have to do or else I will be choked up with work when school resumes.
As some of you already know, I'm an hairstylist and since I was on break, someone contacted me to go make her children's hair and since I needed the money and most especially the client, I had to accept the offer even though I knew I had a lot of things to do as regards my resumption. Well, like I said, I needed the extra cash, is not as if I have an intra cash, lolz. So I went to make her children's hair and also her sister's children's hair. Now you can start thinking about where the play might be coming from.
When I got there, they were all seeing a popular animation called Sing and they were so focused on the TV. The good thing u out of four of them I planned making an hair do for, one was a little bit older and that made it easy for me as I started with hers first. While making her hair, the other three younger ones were busy enjoying the movie. It was obvious that it was the one thousand and one times that they were seeing the movie because they were acting alongside the movie, they looked really adorable, too bad I didn't get the chance to take some pictures.
Well, after I finished the first girl's hair like 2 hours away from when I started, I asked the youngest to sit down which she did but after few minutes, she told me that it shouldn't be her turn that I should make other's first. I couldn't say anything even though I was surprised she said that, lolz. I asked the one next to the eldest to sit down but she was grumbling and the one following her agreed to sit instead. I know you might not get the picture I painted clearly but just know that those children tried or no, they actually played me like a referee.
Finally I was able to finish the second girl's hair and I had to ask the youngest to sit because I was told she easily falls asleep. When I started hers, the other girls decided to play, like they decided to play a show which they even gave a name called THE RIVER GODDESS. At this point I was already tired of laughing because they played the show so well to the point they even changed their assent, haha, this part showed me how professional they were at what they were doing. But you know the part that cracked me up most was when they played to a part and the youngest I was making her hair do quickly chipped in her own role, lolz, she refused to be left behind.
It did not end there, she had to plead with me again to let go of her hair for some time so she could play her role perfectly, haha. Please if you were the one what will you do especially when you know you have very limited time? You can leave your response at the comment section but as for me, I refused her to contribute any further to the play because I want to save time. I had to explain to her why I can't let her play which she understood at least to some extent but then little girl kept wanting to join the play because she was seeing how happily they were playing. So to prevent her from moving her head randomly, I pleaded with the other girls to stop playing so she could concentrate.
And while I was talking to the other girls to stop, the little Madam added a few lines asking them to stop playing so she could concentrate as I said. But unfortunately the girls refused to hearken to our plea, they were already so much into the play of the river goddess,lolz. It got to the point where one of them was asking the queen goddess in the play if she could give birth to children and guess what the reply was, haha.
I had a great time with those girls today and I'm really so delighted to share this experience with you.

Children can be funny atimes. I understand what you are talking about because I have experienced it often. Cause I so make children's hair too

I can relate to what you experienced while making their hair. Children indeed are funny yet adorable creatures. I bet they made your despite the little stress that must have come with it. I don't make hair but I've been with my cousin when she's making her hair and TBH to make it neatly, the stylist just needs a lil patience and sense of humor. Haha
Yeah, you do need to be very Patient with them most times to give them the best service.

Kids and their mischief. In reality ehh, I've totally forgotten you actually make hair. I've been missing out on this detail, thank God I finally remembered. I'm glad you were able to stay patient with them, I'll have gone crazy and given someone a beating hahaha.
That was a wonderful story! Here's a pro tip, if you find yourself in this situation again: Find a clever way to make the hair styles part of their play, like getting them to pretend their characters are all gossiping at the hair salon. If you play a character yourself, it will help :D

Oh no, they said no that as a goddess it is not ideal for them to give birth to children, lolz.
Yeah, at some point I was pissed but that was just to make them behave themselves when they were doing it excessively.

Children are so adorable. Just watching them puts a smile on your face and you do not even realize you are smiling. I'm sure the goddess granted the little one the ability to have children lol. I'm sure it was worth it for you in the end.
