Home Education Curation Collection. 25th June 2023
I'm not sure what happened, but it went really quiet in the community for a few weeks. Perhaps we all got busy at the same time. 😆 I'm pleased to see activity return this week, however, and happy to bring a long awaited curation.
First our usual thank you everyone who makes this community what it is. This week 5% beneficiaries for interaction and contribution to the HomeEdders community go to:
• @missleray
• @leomarylm
• @arrliinn
• @emimoron
There are so many great posts this week I found it hard to decide what to start with! So maybe this grounding one from @romeskie is a good starting point. She's been bonding with her daughter through watercolour painting, but there is much more to this than just that. Have a read to find out why it's a good idea to find the best ways to connect with others when helping to guide them in life.
Now let's break the ice a bit and ease us back into the homeschooling mindset with some light hearted observations on homeschooling life from @crosheille. It's a reminder that no matter your circumstances, there are always ways to be able to make homeschooling a part of your life.
Not all countries legally allow for homeschooling, Venezuela being one of them. Yet many of our Venezuelan community members still make time for learning at home, often in connection with what they are doing at school. This week @leomarylm touched on this briefly as she shared two literacy activities she did with her girls.
Many children do well when learning activities are based around a topic they enjoy and are interested in. You can expand into a range of curriculum areas with this type of learning. This is well demonstrated by @missdeli and son who covered a lot of learning in their chameleons activities.
We don't always think about it, but language and literacy encompasses speech and communication. It's something that shouldn't be neglected if our children are to reach the adult world well rounded. However, circumstances mean it can sometimes get neglected. This week @tomaspalomo shared with us a strategy for oral expression he recently used with his son to help him with communication after the years in lockdown isolation.
Thank you for joining us. This curation was brought to you by @minismallholding and this week I have added @missdeli as 10% beneficiary for the ongoing delegation support. Thank you!

Thank you very much for highlighting my post, I am very happy to be back in the community. And yes these weeks and in my case a few months were really complex, but being here and sharing fills me with joy.
I greatly appreciate the highlight. It’s been awhile since I shared. Thank you! 😊
