Eclipse with the Chicken Eggs!
I have collected 18 eggs and hoping for hatching around 8 of them this March 29.
I have wondered when it was yet 3 days old, if I have been incubating these eggs properly.
Seeing their veins thru my innovative candling, I was feeling awed that these eggs are alive!
It felt like I was their mother. HAHA
I am very excited to see them hatched.
Good day, everyone! How was your weekend? Mine? I had been challenged with my master's degree because it was our master's exam. It was quite difficult compared to the last exam we had. I have realized I should take this professional growth seriously. I am aware of the fact that whenever I start something, I tend to lose track of the way, and I am hoping and praying that this will make me a better person and nurse in the future.
Anyway, this post is about how I nursed these eggs. My chicken started to lay eggs last February. I was waiting for her to lay eggs because I was being impatient thinking how many months have passed yet she wasn't able to lay eggs. I decided to improve the place they have been staying because a co-worker of mine suggested that if I wanted my chickens to lay eggs, I should allow them to roam around. Then viola! A week has passed, and it's true she laid an egg! Her first egg, though, was broken, so we decided to consume it. Then, every day, she started to lay an egg until I had collected them and placed them in our refrigerator.
In an article I have read and with my partner's father's suggestion, I learned that if I want to maintain the fertilization of an egg, I should keep it in the lower portion of the refrigerator. It must be wrapped in paper and placed with the rounded side down. While waiting for the availability of an incubator, I also started to put two of the eggs with my brother's ducks since she is also nursing her eggs, and in our language we call it "Lum-lum".
On March 8, I marked X on one side of the egg and placed them in the incubator, and they must be turned three times per day. And when it reaches day 18, I must stop turning and wait until day 21 for it to hatch and be ready for another brooder's cage.
Stay tuned, as I will share with you my hatching story. Thank you for reading!
