Twitter API Access Tiers: How It Affects Our Hive Twitter Data Daily Report and How it Concerns Us

Twitter recently announced new API access tiers, affecting developers and businesses using their platform for data analysis. As a Hive community member utilizing Twitter data for daily reports, these changes could significantly impact our project. Let's discuss the implications and explore possible solutions.

Twitter introduced multiple access tiers, including a free tier (v2), a basic tier (v2) for hobbyists, and an enterprise tier for businesses. The free tier offers 1,500 Tweets/month, media upload endpoints, and Login with Twitter. The basic tier, priced at $100/month, includes 10,000 GET/month, 50,000 POST/month, and 2 app IDs. Existing access tiers, like Standard (v1.1), Essential (v2), Elevated (v2), and Premium, will be deprecated over the next 30 days.

Our current project relies on daily Twitter data reports, making it challenging to operate within the limits of the new free tier. The basic tier, priced at $100/month, exceeds our budget, raising concerns about the project's sustainability.

Seeking Suggestions from the Hive Community:

As we navigate these changes, we seek input from the Hive community. If you have experience with the new Twitter API access tiers or suggestions for alternative data sources, please share your insights. Your input will be invaluable as we adapt our project to the evolving developer ecosystem.

The new Twitter API access tiers present challenges for our Hive Twitter Data Daily Report. However, we remain optimistic that, with support from the Hive community, we can find a solution to continue our project without compromising on quality or incurring additional costs.

Another option that we can consider to submitting a Decentralized Hive Fund proposal but honestly speaking I am not pretty sure if it can get enough votes to get its monthly expense.

Let me know in the comment down below. May God help us on Hive

Are there any other Hive services that rely on Twitter API? Perhaps we can get a shared API key across multiple Hive services?
