Scholar and Scribe Update and ART!
Good afternoon Scribes! Welcome Scholars!
I just wanted to put together a quick update post and share some awesome news with you all! I've been making steady progress on accumulating the BEE needed to unlock the next phase- Staking and Curation on our two tokens. We are just about half way there at this point and I will continue to push forward with the plans! You can read the original post here or find it pinned in the community itself!
Of course this will just be the next step on our journey to build out a Creative Writing community! There is a mining function that I would also like to unlock in the future as well as some other ideas I have been toying with that I will expand on in future updates. All of this requires some time to accumulate the necessary BEE but I am confident we will have things up and running in fairly short order. The fact that I have accumulated 2000 BEE in just a month or so says a lot and I have no intention of slowing my roll.
I am really pleased to see people subscribing to the community and more authors jumping in to post their content here! Remember this place is all about authors creating and rewarding each other for their awesome creative content. Expect to see more collaborative efforts and ongoing contests like Tale of Two Pizza's and Let's Write Together as well as standalone pieces by myself and other authors as things start to get exciting!
I plan to distribute an initial wave of tokens to author's that have been contributing content to the community in order to give our initial wave of curation a boost- more to come on this as we get closer to unlocking the curation and staking on SCHOLAR and SCRIBE.
I'm sure many of you have noticed the poor quality of the art I have been using up to now in some of the posts- alas, my artistic talents are lacking- but they served as a starting point. I am able to retire some of those images today thanks to the amazing work of @trashyomen who has done some stellar work redesigning the planned token artwork and creating a couple of assets for posts going forward. Check them out below!
I have already added a gif of the monk and the tokens to the banner of our page and will be swapping out the token artwork today too. I'd also like to give a shoutout to @nane-qts for putting together the divider I've been using on Scholar and Scribe posts for a while now!
On a related note I want to give some attention to some of the author's that have contributed ideas and posts already to the community as well as a few folks I am working closely with to get this thing rolling. Thanks to @thebeardflex and the whole crew over at PIZZA. This remains the current base of operations for Let's Write Together and Tale of Two Pizza's, I don't expect that to change anytime soon with such an awesome community over there. @Ravenmus1c I am really happy to partner with you on your birthday contest and hope we can work together going forward to post lyrics and poetry here or run more contests! I also want to shout out @a1-shroom-spores and @cryptoniusrex for their input on a few aspects of this project- check out @a1-shroom-spores sister community Text Adventures for more creative writing!
@agreste many thanks for his posts and discussions about books on chain! @samsmith1971 and @wrestlingdesires thank you for continuing to contribute to Tale of Two Pizza's week in and week out! I hope to see more of your awesome writing here soon! @onewolfe and @teknon thank you for being some of the first to post in the community beside myself! Thanks to @stickupboys for contributing BEE and support! And @trashyomen I can't thank you enough for the awesome artwork and curation efforts!
That just about wraps it up for updates! I hope you all enjoy the artwork and feel free to use it in your own posts to the Scholar and Scribe community! If any artists would like to participate in the community without writing- I have something in mind for a regular event- reach out to me on discord or in the comments! I'm almost always online in the PIZZA discord.
Expect a post soon with some more specific numbers in it regarding the BEE accumulation and plans for the wider token launch!

The renders aren't helping neither are the online gif converters but by importing the frames as PNGs I was able to get a gif that can be used on hive.

If you check out my profile, you will find Mortis Custos and Book of Space Lore. Both are chain stories that I do with other creative writers.
I started doing these years ago and have a bit of a gap where I was off-again but have just picked it all up again.
Let me know your thoughts about that. This community has just started to grow, but it is an interesting idea. I would like to invite @therneau and @lex-zaiya to have a look at this post and the one linked to it.

We will keep on building it up by posting great content! I like collaboration and continuing where other writers have left off- it keeps me on my toes and forces me to flex my creative muscles in unexpected/unintended ways.
The Tale of Two Pizza's is a similar format to your chain stories but with prizes. Each week(ish) I hand out prizes for the previous week and write another chunk of the plot to start the next weeks contest. It cycles back to me each week which is something I have been trying to figure out how to improve on. I believe we are on week 24 now! Once that one draws to a close there will be other contests running in a similar or improved fashion.
We also do a Let's Write Together event in the Pizza Discord where I write via livestream based on community input.
I am totally open to other authors running their own contests and events to foster creativity and collaboration between writers in the community. I hadn't seen your chain stories before and will plan on contributing in the future! We should chat more about them and how best to compile these longer running events into an easier to consume format- something I am grappling with for Tale of Two Pizza's as we want to edit and compile it all into a complete work at the end.
As long as it is creative writing it is welcome in Scholar and Scribe! Glad you found the community and looking forward to reading some of your work !PIZZA
