Announcement - Nature Coin & New Contest Scheme
Hello Nature-Lovers ^^
The Amazing Nature Community will change a little bit again in the future. There are two changes in the community that I am going to announce in this post. First, the implementation of the NATURE COIN as the new contest reward. Second, a CHANGE IN THE CONTEST SCHEME, which has an impact on the organisation of the Open Contest and the Thematic Challenge.
Implementation of the Nature Coin
A while ago, the Nature Coin was created. It was distributed to every community withing DNA, as well as to each moderator of the communities and some other people. In the future, this coin should be used for two main purposes.
On one hand, it will be rewarded to everyone who participated in the DNA Species Hunt and left a corresponding entry in one of the DNA communities - INSECTS in the Insects of the World and BIRDS in the Feathered Friends community .. (There is more to be planned)
On the other hand, each community is free to reward their members with the coin for whatever purpose they may find it suiting. These may range from contest rewards, to post appreciations, or whatever else they may find suitable.
The Amazing Nature Community is using it from now on as their Contest Rewards for the weekly contest. At the beginning we will start with a 3/2/1 scheme as following: 3 NC for the first, 2 NC for the second and 1 NC for the third place. This of cause can vary with time, depending on how and in which way the coin will be implemented, used and accepted by the Hiveans. There may be also the possibility for staking, tipping and many more possible usages withing the communities, but this is still future music, as it's the very first time the coin is actually used and spread on a regular basis.
Change in Contest Scheme
There will be also a change in the contest scheme from now on. As withing DNA the species Hunt was implemented a while ago, which I am working at, and which was already extended from just Insects to Birds and soon other projects too, I will be more involved there and less withing AN in the future. In addition, as I start a new work from next month and soon will have another very time demanding real life project, I need to make some time space by passing the contest to @bucipuci, who already hosts the weekly Thematic Challenge and was willing to extend his contest scheme.
Until now there were two separated contests each week, The Open Competition and the Thematic Challenge. From next month on, there will be only one contest each week. It will be Alternating between these two formats, starting with the Open Competition.
Open Competition
Here, everyone can participate with a Free Topic. As nature covers an incredible wide range, there is really anything possible. The entries topics could cover anything from the following topics:
- Botany
- Zoology
- Geology
- Landscapes
- Philosophy
- ... Surprise us ^^
But it is important to State in the Text why those entries are representing Your Personal Amazing Nature.
Thematic Challenge
Here there will be a certain topic given initially, but it will changes each time. As in the open contest, it will be also essential to State in the Text why those entries are Suiting to the Given Theme.
For a more detailed descriptions and the full contest rules, you will have to take a look on the corresponding contest announcements. But they will be nearly the same as they already were until now ^^
Thank You Community and Moderators!
The Amazing Nature comunity recently reached 6000 member ! After being already amazed about reaching the magical number of 5000, this is really awesome again and I am very grateful to everyone out there who decided to participate in this community and posts about all the wonders of the amazing nature all around us. I am also really grateful to the moderators who decided to support the community and helped to implement a complete curation scheme and a really nice contest every week .. You are the best .. THANK YOU 😍
Community Rules
Of course there are some rules to the Amazing Community and all of you should read over them properly and keep them in mind whenever you want to publish a post here. The rules are crucial to be accepted as a contest/challenge entry and also to be reviewed as a potential AN curated post.
- Only post you own original content and do not copy&paste or plagiarize !
This will be taken very serious. If we find out that you are breaking this first rule, we reserve us the right to mute you within the AN community. We will also notify the other communities about it and will have a far closer look into your account. Always state the source of all of your pictures, even if they are your own. Soo, obviously the second rules is ..
- Always reference the source of pictures and texts, even if they are your own !
The aim of the Amazing Nature community is to share the Amazing Nature around you. This means that we are not a "Photography" community and we treat pictures from professional photographers the same way as those from amateur photographers that are only using mobile phone cameras. Our focus is on the descriptions of the pictures. In every post we would like to read the reason why you are showing us your pictures, your motivation, your feelings, and so on. We are here for bringing Nature-Lovers together and not for watching solely pictures 😊 This brings us to the third rule.
- Do not post picture without text. Add explanations that suit the AN philosophy !
The last rule is probably an obvious one, but nevertheless I will state it here once. Other than plagiarism breaking this rule will kick you out of AN directly without any further investigation or notification !
- No hate or discriminatory language of any kind or other offensive behavior !
We at Hive believe in being a proper and adult blogging platform and do not want to become like these other widespread social media platforms out there ^^
Of course this format is open to all your suggestions and critics that aim to increase the quality of the community and the fun for everyone that wants to be a part of it .. So, do not hesitate to communicate with us ^^ We are all giving our best to continuously increase the quality of our work and the overall community itself ;)
DNA - Densifying Nature-Appreciation :
DNA is an organization to foster and DENSIFY NATURE-APPRECIATION which aims to establish REPORTS OF BIODIVERSITY DATA that is contributed by all of us Hiveans and subsequently cataloged. Therefore DNA searches for HIGH-QUALITY posts that aim to DESCRIBE and determine the BIODIVERSITY AROUND YOU with added EXPLANATIONS and INFORMATION. For these informative posts they offer a CURATION SERVICE using the @dna.org account. It is also a CURATION TRAIL. Just add the #dna TAG if you think that any of your posts is what they are looking for. At the moment DNA is also the home of the #amazingnature for all your post about the amazing nature all around us, the #featheredfriends hosted by the lovely @melinda010100 🦢 for all you great posts about birds, the #fungifriday hosted by the amazing @qwerrie 🍄 for all your posts about fungi and mushrooms ^^ .. Recently DNA expanded its network and implemented the #aquaticsentinels with @juanbg and the #insectsoftheworld with @nicanor-mosquera, as well as the #petals with @lourdeshd6 .. But we hope that more nature related communities will join, or maybe some Hiveans start their own little project there ;) .. Maybe even you?
