Another one bites the dust (Part II)

! [Click to reveal] Your spoiler content -I am usually optimistic, I said, watching the end of the world. My grandparents, after WW2, firmly believed that the Earth would end up being a big ball on fire, with the Cold War looming the atomic threat across the world. Funny enough, those missiles ended up being the end of us, much, much later, in 2025. As I watch all those atomic heads crossing the evening sky, I realise that we have only weeks, if not days left. As Einstein said: "I do not know how the WW3 will be, but the WW4 will be done using sticks and arrows." And, as expected, these will be us, back into the Dark Ages. Actually, the Dark Ages were coming before the Renaissance, so most likely we would go back to the Bronze Age. Or the Stone Age, depending on how much we remember, without WIFI, without internet, without electricity. As the darkness came and the lights switched off one after another, I could only wish everyone good luck. We gonna need it.

Part II

This is what the angel showed me. One possible future. And how to avoid it. Specifically. And to think that lately, I was feeling that my existence here will never make any difference in anyone's life. Little did I know. To be honest, I have been planning this since I was a teenager. I grow up as a young genius, with no support from the school or anyone. At some moment, I read one research paper about geniuses and people with potential, and how 3 out of 4 are slipping through the grid, without anyone to nurture their talent and help them grow, so they are lost to humanity. Just imagine, 75% of these people never achieve their full potential. And so, the idea of the GeNiUs foundation was born, the one that was to be called Spark Foundation lately, as you know it right now. I never expected to be such a success, bringing our civilization to new heights. Back then I just envisioned a way to help all those kids, to support their parents and help them to learn quicker and faster about their special skills. In return, as they grow, to give back a bit of their time mentoring other young ones, and gathering together to solve worldwide problems, when needed. And what would you think, 18 years later, all the big issues that have been bugging humanity for centuries were somehow solved, and we had committees taking care of learning, industry, pollution, health care and every other one, all brilliantly planned and supported by people with amazing skills. All crises, past and future, to be averted before they even happen. Paradise on earth, right here, right now.

Who would have thought that we could be at this point in our history when decades earlier we were almost at the brink of extinction.

And then the alarm was ringing, and I woke up. Time to go to me menial work, once more. Dreams have a funny way of showing me what could have been. One day, I may really decide to create that foundation, supporting young geniuses. And Hive will be the point where everything starts. Until then, I grab my sandwich and drink my cup of tea quickly, and I go. My clients are expecting.
