It's not easy to be a woman, because it feels like every little change in our body comes with some kind of pain, if it's not headaches or migraine, it's breast pain, chest pain, abdominal pain, pelvic pain or what not. The thing is that most times we can control what our bodies react to, the issue of the hormonal imbalance has made us victims to changes in our lifestyle. One minute we are good the other minute we are experiencing bloating, fatigue, mood swing, temperature rise and so on.

Thankfully there are several effective ways to control this especially for us that experience heavy bleeding and longer day as well. To be able to curtail this to a minimum is not a days job, it simply means you need to have a positive consistent lifestyle that you would be ready to follow through. For me, I do a combination of local herbs and traditional medicine.

The ways I take care of myself to prevent this are:

  • I avoid sugary and carbonated drinks like a plaque, the last time I took coke was in January and that was because of the celebration of new year. One time I took ice-cream and so on. But I make sure that when I get home I cover up by taking herbs like squeezed bitterleaf juice to help flush it out.

  • I also try to eat healthy by incorporating vegetables into my meals and taking more fruits than usual. Like they say a fruit a day keeps the doctor away.

  • I do herbs most times, for instance I do ginger, garlic, cloves, turmeric combo, where I soak them for three day and I start taking a small glass every morning. We all know those are natural herbs proven to be beneficial to women's health.

  • I also use drugs especially to build up what I lost at the last period. I take tabs like vitamin c, fesulf, supplements that give iron and boosts immune system.

  • most of all, I try to stay positive and have faith in my body. Someone a positive mind has a way of healing the body.

These are some of the ways I try to take care of my physical and mental health during the phase of my menstrual cycle.

Thanks for stopping by my blog...

Diet plays a major role in regulating the body and during these times avoiding sweets is good, the fact is that we get major cravings also in this time and it's a challenge to control
