Photo Journal 002 - Nikon D5000 Test Photos @Geelhout Gardens
Greetings from the middle of nowhere, South Africa!
Well, I have finally managed to get my camera up and running! No more phone camera that cannot even zoom.
Now I just need to figure out how to get the best out of it, a task which I am more than happy to spend many hours on.
My favourite photo of the day, the light reflecting off the fish tank makes it less than perfect, but I still like it.
I recently visited a local nursery, which also has a pretty decent pet shop and aviary.
Although I took over one hundred and thirty photos there, these were my favourites, as they are much closer to my style than the other photos of the day, which mostly featured birds and trees. (Some of those I used for my Wednesday walk post)
I really enjoyed the look of this little skull in a fish tank and would have loved to get some photos of it at night, when the lighting might have worked with me better.
Something about the lonely little bird shelter hanging from the aviary roof caught my attention, and I hoped to capture some of the mood I felt while looking up at it.
The hole in this tree stump along with whatever is growing on it made me wonder what could be hidden in there, spiders I suspect... something about it just felt very "Do not touch" which I liked a lot!
That's it! Just a few favourites from this week, hopefully a little bit of improvement too.
Now I need to go work on the next batch.
