Romance novels and I have a history, as ironically they were my first love in the realm of reading and, in fact, thanks to this genre I became an inveterate reader.

Over the years I have read multiple tropes and sub genres. Romantasy, marriage of convenience, single parent, enemies to lovers, historical romance, found family, friends to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, mafia romance, slowburn, among many others-if you have no idea what I'm talking about, let me know in the comments and I'll be happy to do a post explaining all these terms. My only requirement is that it has a happy ending. We are not lovers of sad endings here. I read to feel good.

Of course from so many romances I've read, I've had a lot of women writers left, but today I'll tell you about the newest author in my romance arsenal. She is Emily Henry.

An American writer who has warmed my heart. With such clear, precise, neat prose, she says neither more nor less, but just enough to draw you into her world.

I really found her writing beautiful, and her characters much more beautiful and complex but above all human, with dreams, insecurities, fears, but especially with strong personalities. The character development is not linear and I find it ideal because it would be too unrealistic. Nothing in life is linear.

Her novels are very good, deep but not too deep, fun and casual but not silly. I like that they are easy to read and hook you very much. You enjoy the reading and at the same time you are part of the development of multiple stories.

So far, the book I have liked the most is Book Lovers. A book where she reverses the roles and the protagonist is what in a typical love story would be the antagonist, the "villain".

It is the story of Nora Stephens, a literary agent obsessed with her work and deeply rooted in New York City, uptight, and some might say a bit bitter. She is the typical city girl, but the one who always leaves for a more relaxed, small-town lifestyle where peace of mind and tranquility prevail, where work is not the most important thing.

Nora would be Miranda Presley from The Devils Wears Prada. No one tells what happens to these characters, where do they go? Do they stay sad? Do they get their happy ending?

I won't really give you more details about this book because I will be doing a more detailed review soon, but it is beautiful and I highly recommend it.

Of course, there are many more romance authors that I love, among them, Sarah J Maas who is my eternal queen, creator of my favorite fantasy saga (ACOTAR), Ali Hazelwood, Chloe Liese, Catharina Maura, among others.

Las novelas de romance y yo tenemos historia, pues irónicamente fueron mi primer amor en el ámbito de la lectura y, de hecho, gracias a este género me volví una lectora empedernida.

A lo largo de los años he leído múltiples tropos y sub géneros. Romantasy, matrimonio por conveniencia, padre/madre soltera, enemies to lovers, romance histórico, found family, friends to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, mafia romance, slowburn, entre muchos otros.—Si no tienes ni idea de lo que hablo, dímelo en los comentarios y con gusto haré un post explicando todos estos términos—. Por supuesto que de tantos romances que he leído, me han quedado muchas escritoras, pero hoy te hablaré de la autora más reciente en mi arsenal romántico. Se trata de Emily Henry.

Una escritora estadounidense que me ha dejado el corazón calentito. Con una prosa tan clara, precisa, pulcra, no dice ni más ni menos, sino lo justo y necesario para adentrarte en su mundo.

Su forma de escribir, de verdad, me pareció hermosa, y sus personajes mucho mas hermosos y complejos pero sobretodo humanos, con sueños, inseguridades, miedos, pero especialmente con personalidades fuertes. El desarrollo de personajes no es lineal y me parece idóneo porque sería demasiado irreal. Nada en la vida es lineal.

Sus novelas son muy buenas, profundas pero no demasiado, divertidas y casuales pero no pecando de tontas. Me gusta que son fáciles de leer y te enganchan muchísimo. Disfrutas la lectura y a su vez eres partícipe del desarrollo de múltiples historias.

Hasta el momento el libro que más me ha gustado de ella es Book Lovers. Un libro en donde invierte los papeles y la protagonista es la que en una típica historia de amor sería la antagonista, la "villana".

Es la historia de Nora Stephens, una agente literaria obsesionada con su trabajo y arraigada profundamente en la ciudad de Nueva York, tensa, y algunos dirán que un poco amargada. Es la típica citadina, pero la que siempre dejan por un cambio de estilo de vida más relajado, más pueblerino en dónde la paz mental y la tranquilidad predominan, en dónde el trabajo no es lo más importante.

Nora sería Miranda Presley de The Devils Wears Prada. Nadie cuenta qué pasa con este tipo de personajes, ¿A dónde van? ¿Se quedan tristes? ¿Obtienen su final feliz?

Realmente no les daré más detalles de este libro porque pronto les haré una reseña más detallada, pero es precioso y se los recomiendo muchísimo.

Por supuesto, hay muchas más autoras de romance que me encantan, entre ellas, Sarah J Maas que es mi reina eterna, creadora de mi saga de fantasía favorita (ACOTAR), Ali Hazelwood, Chloe Liese, Catharina Maura, entre otras.
