Escena I: Marina Plaza - F.U.M.O. 10º Aniversario | Scene I: Marina Plaza - F.U.M.O. 10th Anniversary [ESP-ING]

Cuando solo pensaba en presentar la exposición poética, Funerales de Una Mente Oxidada (F.U.M.O.), en principio, no tenía contemplado que el performance musical se convertiría en un proyecto musical; sin embargo, así lo solicitaron y, de la misma manera, lo acepté y lo fui, y lo he ido llevando en la medida de mis posibilidades. Recuerdo que, cuando todo el proyecto empezó a emerger, me costaba entender que todo implicaba, en gran medida, de dar conciertos. Mis compañeros de aventura tampoco habían contemplado en un inicio todo lo que estaba ocurriendo, sin embargo, todos nosotros lo estábamos disfrutando, y marchando conforme se iban dando las cosas. Ingenuamente, le comentaba en los ensayos que los conciertos más que adrenalina me producían algo de nervios, y que prefería no darlos.

When I was only thinking of presenting the poetry exhibition, Funerales de Una Mente Oxidada (F.U.M.O.), at first, I had not contemplated that the musical performance would become a musical project; however, it was requested and, in the same way, I accepted it and went for it, and I have been carrying it to the extent of my possibilities. I remember that, when the whole project began to emerge, it was hard for me to understand that it all implied, to a great extent, giving concerts. My fellow adventurers had not contemplated at the beginning all that was happening, however, we were all enjoying it, and going along as things were happening. Naively, I told him in rehearsals that the concerts were more of an adrenaline rush than an adrenaline rush, and that I preferred not to give them.

Como pueden intuir al ver las fotos, que mis compañeros no me hacían mucho caso, y eso me hacía seguir avanzando en las presentaciones, ellos me dieron bastante apoyo para mantenerme en pie ensayando y practicando para mejorar cada día y dar lo mejor de mí en cada presentación. En las dos primeras presentaciones, tanto para el debut del proyecto como para el despegue de F.U.M.O., la experiencia de presentarme era compleja, de momentos llegaba a odiar a mis compañeros por darme motivaciones de "sufrimiento", pero con los años siguientes, le agradezco que hayan sido tan "crueles".

As you can sense by looking at the pictures, that my colleagues did not pay much attention to me, and that made me keep moving forward in the presentations, they gave me enough support to keep me on my feet rehearsing and practicing to improve every day and give the best of me in each presentation. In the first two presentations, both for the debut of the project and for the F.U.M.O. takeoff, the experience of presenting was complex, at times I hated my classmates for giving me "suffering" motivations, but with the following years, I thank them for being so "cruel".

A pesar de los desafíos, poco a poco fui comprendiendo que estar frente a un público que va a disfrutar tu música o vaya solo por curiosidad a ver que trae el proyecto de nuevo, es una sensación que es bastante agradable. Una de las cosas que disfruté del debut fue que el escenario estaba a ras de piso con el público, y a penas terminar, algún conocido o desconocido no presenta temor en acercarse y darte sus impresiones. Eso me agradó mucho, por lo que procuré repetirlo y hacerlo las veces que fueran posibles, en esta ocasión se pudo.

Despite the challenges, little by little I realized that being in front of an audience that is going to enjoy your music or go just out of curiosity to see what the project brings new, is a feeling that is quite pleasant. One of the things I enjoyed about the debut was that the stage was at floor level with the audience, and as soon as I finished, someone I knew or didn't know wouldn't be afraid to approach you and give you their impressions. That pleased me a lot, so I tried to repeat it and do it as many times as possible, this time it was possible.

Estas líneas me están ayudando a recordar tantos momentos vividos con el proyecto, y a su vez, valorar cada logro que se fue gestando, así como también, a plasmar las aventuras de cada concierto y narrar la historia de estos 10 años que llevo a bordo del proyecto. Las fotos que presento son parte de la presentación que se realizó el sábado 12 de abril de 2014. El Centro Comercial Mariana Plaza de la ciudad de Cumaná-Venezuela fue el epicentro de esta celebración con conjunto con la banda hermano Ilusión Sónica. Esto sería el inicio de una serie de conciertos que se estaban contemplados en distintos puntos de la ciudad, por ende el nombre, Escena I: Marina Plaza.

These lines are helping me to remember so many moments lived with the project, and at the same time, to value each achievement that was being developed, as well as to capture the adventures of each concert and tell the story of these 10 years that I have been on board the project. The photos I present are part of the presentation that took place on Saturday, April 12, 2014. The Mariana Plaza Shopping Center in the city of Cumaná-Venezuela was the epicenter of this celebration with the brother band Ilusión Sónica. This would be the beginning of a series of concerts that were contemplated in different parts of the city, hence the name, Scene I: Marina Plaza.

El concepto de estos eventos, de alguna u otra manera, quería romper con la tradición de tocar en establecimientos, y más bien, por el contrario, intervenir los espacios y volver salas los espacios públicos, claro, en la medida de lo posible, en esta ocasión se logró de excelentes resultados. Aislando las controversias que se pudieron generar con el evento, es difícil olvidarse que no se cobró nada a los asistentes por ir a ver la presentación, además, que para la fecha no se habían hecho conciertos de rock en el patio central del centro comercial. Fue realmente emocionante.

The concept of these events, in some way or another, wanted to break with the tradition of playing in establishments, and rather, on the contrary, to intervene the spaces and return the public spaces to public halls, of course, to the extent possible, on this occasion it was achieved with excellent results. Isolating the controversies that could be generated with the event, it is difficult to forget that there was no charge to attendees to go to see the presentation, in addition, that by that time there had been no rock concerts in the central courtyard of the mall. It was really exciting.

El concierto nos dejó algo claro, más allá de comentar del éxito de las bandas presentadas o de la música misma, es la pasión por lo que hacemos, la pasión por la música, por el rock, de como se logró influenciar a la gente de la ciudad, tanto que, los meses empezaron a presentarse agrupaciones de otros géneros en el mismo lugar. De alguna u otra manera, dejamos un aporte a la cultura de la ciudad, hoy, luego de tantos años, agradezco y valoro los esfuerzos que se hicieron, para nosotros como para inspirar a otros.

The concert left us something clear, beyond commenting on the success of the bands presented or the music itself, is the passion for what we do, the passion for music, for rock, how we managed to influence the people of the city, so much so that, months later, groups of other genres began to appear in the same place. Somehow or another, we left a contribution to the culture of the city, today, after so many years, I appreciate and value the efforts that were made, both for us and to inspire others.
