Fake Solicitor BTC Scam | UK Regulator Alerts Public
Britannica
Hey folks.
The United Kingdom's Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has furnished a warning about a new scam that involve emails from fake lawyers demanding Bitcoin payments.
An email from the address "[email protected]" purports to have copied all of the recipient's personal information and threatens to expose harmful recordings unless a Bitcoin payment is made, according to an update on the website.
The scam email has a link to Bitcoin wallet which may have malware. It uses the name of "Patrice Joyce" falsely and states to be connected with the legitimate firms Attwaters Solicitors and Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors. Nevertheless, The Solicitors Regulation Authority confirmed that it does not regulate or authorize a lawyer with the name Patrice Joyce.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) makes it clear that any transactions or business conducted using the email address "@attwaters.co" are not connected to the legitimate companies or people it oversees. Email addresses from the legitimate company finish in "@attwaters.co.uk" or "@attwatersjamesonhill.co.uk."
The bearer of the name used in the email address, Manjot Kaur Henchie, also known as Joyti, is a real attorney employed by the respectable Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors. Henchie and the company have both stated that they are unrelated to the fraudulent email.
Individuals are being advised by the SRA to perform due diligence if they receive correspondence that is suspicious. This includes verifying the authenticity of the email by reaching out to the law firm directly through reliable means and checking records of SRA to confirm authorization of the individual or the firm.
The UK regulator's caution is just another example of how important it is to guard against email scammers and make sure that any demands for payment, especially in cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, are properly looked into before taking any action.

The crazy thing is that these scammers will make it seem like real lawyers so that people will believe them
One thing I always do is not welcoming any information or mail from strangers
