Wednesday Walk - Exploring the Prime City Area at Night
It was our belated anniversary celebration when my husband and I went to the prime city area in Kuala Lumpur called Bukit Bintang. It is not our usual practice to be here as it is ALWAYS a congested area whether with people or with cars.
So after our dinner, we decided to walk a bit to cross over to another mall called Fahrenheit to their Uniqlo outlet. It had been a long while since my husband walked on this street at night because after we have become parents, the boys have to go bed by a certain time at night so this was such a refreshing thing for us though the crowd was crazy. I even bumped into my coursemate and her husband who were there too.
This Bukit Bintang crossing has a few malls around it which are Pavilion, Fahrenheit, Sungei Wang, Lot 10 and also Starhill. There was also a new known bookstore from Taiwan which has just opened. It feels like everyone were out to either do their Christmas shopping or to experience the Christmas atmosphere.
I looked around at the streets to slowly look at the surroundings. There were beautiful lamps hanging from above at one of the alleys. There was the famous Turkish ice cream man tricking the children with his humour and playing a fool with them. Their parents stood behind them and were videoing the whole process while laughing.
There was the famous Don Don Donki shop selling wagyu sticks as well as a Sweet Potato Factory selling street food right outside the Lot 10 mall. I saw many people holding a really tall coned ice-cream and was wondering where the shop is and I found it right outside the entrance of Lot 10. I did not try it because I doubt I can finish that after dinner.
We then walked back to the Lot 10 mall as we went up to our parking upstairs. As we were moving upwards, we then saw an indoor basketball court for anyone to play in there, interesting huh.
the Japan Store
This was where we had our dinner but actually it is more than just an ordinary dining area as it is a combo of an eatery of many varieties and a store. It serves up seafood as well as the higher grade beef. Very eye opening for me!
We passed by a lot of Christmas goodies which were really beautiful chocolates and snacks. There was also a meat section which my husband enjoyed looking at. Look at those marbling on the beef. Some were different waygu and Angus beef from different countries and of course the prices can really "wow" us!
Soon after, we reached our car park and we decided to go home before 9pm as our eldest son is waiting for us at home too. Just when I thought he was ready to sleep, lo and behold we had to rush his homework before his submission the next day! Oh my! Nevertheless it was still a wonderful time for me and the husband exploring this city area. The husband said he used to come to this area almost every weekend when he was a teen. Hahahah look at how time has flown and how our lifestyles have changed.
This #wednesdaywalk was really interesting for me because I rarely go out at night and what more into the prime area of Kuala Lumpur. I mean I can understand the attraction of city night life too now that I went to be part of it once in a while. It is about 30 to 40 minutes drive from our place so that is why we do not frequent it often too. And....
It is Christmas coming at us!!! It is the most wonderful time of the year and one of my favorite festival celebrations!
