MyTown Shopping Mall
MyTown is a shopping mall that is a bit further away from me.
The location of it is in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
ADD: No.6, Jalan Cochrane, Seksyen 90, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

Here is its official website.
The reason why we paid a visit to this mall was because it is linked to IKEA, the Cheras Branch. (Still yet to tidy up the many photos of IKEA so I will save that post for another day hehe.)
MyTown is actually a rather huge shopping mall. It can be easily accessed by MRT as well.
However to our surprise, it was very deserted on the day we went which was a weekday but it was deserted to a point that we can hardly spot human beings besides shopkeepers. Okay to a certain extent, I had some relief because I also do like a mall without crowds but I do feel for the shop owners and tenants in this mall. Business must have been difficult especially during and after lockdowns.
I can see the mall's effort in drawing customers like setting up some activities for children during the school holidays like the ball pits.
They also have Back to School promotions on school bags and books.
The Link between Ikea and Mytown
This is the place where there is a play area for children. The last time I visited here I remembered it was full of children and people. Obviously the pandemic has slowed things down.
Taobao Shop
Okay, if you are Chinese literate,, I am sure you use or heard of Taobao. I AM A TAOBAO FAN but I usually buy things from their online platform. When I knew of them opening a physical shop in Mytown, I was excited yet I did not visit it until today.
The shop has a small eating area where you can order food and eat there.
It sells quite a bit of things but the variety range is a bit disappointing as I realise many of these items are now also sold by Malaysian sellers too.
I went in to take a look but I felt the shop is a bit unorganised and there were no interesting items that attract me. So yay, didn't buy anything!
However, still am glad I finally drop by the shop.
Urban Juicer
After walking for a while, my husband and I stopped at this Urban Juicer to get a drink to refresh ourselves. They have a great menu for cold pressed juices.
I got the Workout Recovery Juice which consists of beetroot, watermelon and apples. IT WAS VERY VERY VERY GOOD that I wanted more!
I got the husband Avocado Chocolate Milk as it is something he likes.
Saw this cute Avocado plushies at their drinking area too.
After that we packed another bottle of cold pressed juice for my mum-in-law and headed back to fetch my eldest son from a friend's house. Was wanting to visit the grocer but we ran out of time.
After visiting MyTown, I realised that this mall is actually quite nice and since it is less crowded, I think I feel safe to bring my children back one day too. Let's see if we have a day to do that in the remaining one week of school holidays!
See! This was just half way through the visit and I already clocked in 4000 steps!
Still, that was a great day out with the husband to have some adult conversations and to especially calm my nerves down for the eldest son's upcoming school. Talking to my husband always helps to clarify the mind.
