TTT - Mashups

Three Tune Tuesday! Here we go!
Today I want to share 3 songs that were mixed with other songs, popularly known as a mash-up.
This technique consists of taking a beat or harmony from one song and adding the melody of another song that may sound similar.
It is true that when we think of these mash-ups, rap music comes to mind. You might be surprised that the history or origins of these mash-ups go back to the 70s.
The first song I'll share today is what is considered to be the first Mash-up in history.
Pink Project - Disco Project
In 1982 an Italian DJ noticed that Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall and Alan Parsons' Mammagamma had a certain similarity to each other. It was from that moment that the idea of creating a mix between the two songs was born.
The song also starts with the intro of Alan Parsons' Sirius, and then gives way to Another Brick In The Wall, while the riff of Mammagamma can be heard in the background.
Something interesting about this mix, is that as these musicians did not have permission from the original artists, they did their own performance of the songs to be mixed.
Boulevard Of Broken Songs
This is one of the best mixes I've heard musically. It combines four songs that intertwine very well and gives a great atmosphere to this song.
In fact, it was the first Mash-up I remember listening to. At that time when YouTube was getting more and more popular and this video was released 13 years ago.
I also really liked this mash-up because it combined who my favourite band was at the time, Green Day. At the time of writing this post, I replayed the song, and it brought back some memories and a good feeling of listening to this great mix of songs.
Argentinian Cumbia vs. Gwen Stefani and The Black Eyed Peas
This is a bit of a bizarre mash-up, as it combines totally different genres, but the result is one of the best.
I remember that on the VH1 channel in Latin America, they sometimes showed commercials with these mash-ups. I was really attracted by that Argentinean cumbia that was so catchy, in fact I like that song a lot.
But the craziest thing about it is how they combined this song with a song by Gwen Stefani and the Black Eyed Peas. It was very usual to see these Mash-ups on this channel, and they really hired some good DJs.
That's all for today I hope you liked these mixes, of course if you want to leave your Mash-ups in the comments I'll be listening to them, thanks for the support and for reading.
Some awesome mashups here ! Really cool! The Greenday/Oasis was cool with the Eminem outro! Cool mix :)
