Es increíble como pasa el tiempo. A mi parecer cuando hablo del año 2002, siento como si fuera hace muy poco tiempo, pero ya han pasado 20 años y estas canciones nos llevarán al pasado.

It's amazing how time passes. In my opinion, when I talk about the year 2002, I feel like it was very recently, but 20 years have passed and these songs will take us back in time.

1. Clocks - Coldplay

Un intro de piano que seguro hemos escuchado alguna vez en nuestra vida. Este es uno de los mayores éxitos de la banda británica Coldplay. Este sencillo los catapultó a la cima del rock alternativo y es una canción que no falta en los conciertos, bueno la verdad no se si la sigan tocando. Dejé de seguir a Coldplay desde hace tiempo, pero esta es una de las favoritas.

A piano intro that we have surely heard at some point in our lives. This is one of the biggest hits of the British band Coldplay. This single catapulted them to the top of alternative rock and it is a song that is not lacking in concerts, well the truth is I don't know if they continue playing it. I stopped following Coldplay a long time ago, but this is one of the favorites.

2. All The Things She Said - t.A.T.u.

Una canción que no paraba de sonar en la TV, MTV a cada rato colocaba este video, algo controvertido para el momento, pero estas chicas rusas conquistaron el mercado alternativo con esta canción. Las dos integrantes del grupo parecían tener alguna relación, pero en realidad sólo usaron esa imagen por motivos comerciales. Volví a escuchar masivamente esta canción recientemente por algunos videos en redes sociales, así que no morirá.

A song that never stopped playing on TV, MTV played this video every so often, something controversial at the time, but these Russian girls conquered the alternative market with this song. The two members of the group seemed to have some relationship, but in reality they only used that image for commercial reasons. I massively re-listened to this song recently because of some social media videos, so it won't die.

3. Es Por Ti - Juanes

Esta canción la he escuchado en algunos covers por los excelentes músicos qué hay en Hive. La canción es tomada del segundo disco en solitario de Juanes. Por si no sabían él antes de ser solista tenía un grupo de heavy metal muy bueno. Gracias a esta canción, fue reconocido con algunos premios Grammy. Este álbum hace parte de mi colección de CDs que espero un día compartir.

I have heard this song in some covers by the excellent musicians in Hive. The song is taken from Juanes' second solo album. In case you didn't know, before going solo he had a very good heavy metal group. Thanks to this song, he was recognized with some Grammy awards. This album is part of my CD collection that I hope one day to share.

1. Moi... Lolita - Alizée
   

Hasta el sol de hoy no tengo ni idea de que habla esta canción, pero algo de lo que estoy seguro es que sonaba en todo lado. A pesar de estar en francés, su ritmo era pegajoso y era muy grato escuchar música dance en la radio.

Until today I have no idea what this song is about, but one thing I'm sure of is that it was played everywhere. Despite being in French, its rhythm was catchy and it was very pleasant to listen to dance music on the radio.

5. Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavigne

¡El Pop Punk no falta! El amor de muchos adolescentes de esa época nos dejaba una de esas historias de amores de jóvenes muy opuestos pero que se amaban. Yo vine a escuchar la canción un par de años después y si, también me quedó gustando mucho Avril.

Pop Punk is not missing! The love of many adolescents of that time left us one of those love stories of very opposite young people but who loved each other. I came to listen to the song a couple of years later and yes, I still like Avril a lot.

6. Asereje - Las Ketchup

Cuantas veces nos dijeron que la letra de esta canción era satanica, o que si la poníamos al revés encontrábamos un mensaje subliminal. ¡Que buenas épocas! Lo cierto es que fue unas de las coreografías más bailadas por todos. Una letra sin sentido, que en realidad viene de un rap. Incontables son las veces que bailé esto de niño en clases de danza.

How many times have we been told that the lyrics of this song were satanic, or that if we put it backwards we would find a subliminal message. What good times! The truth is that it was one of the most danced choreographies by all. A meaningless lyric, which actually comes from a rap. Countless are the times that I danced this as a child in dance classes.

7. No One Knows - Queens Of The Stone Age

Es uno de los intros conocidos para todos los que escuchamos rock alternativo. Fue todo un éxito en el mundo del rock, siendo número 1 en muchas listas. En el video podemos ver a el querido Dave Grohl tocando la batería cuando era parte de esta banda.

It is one of the intros known to all of us who listen to alternative rock. It was a success in the world of rock, being number 1 on many lists. In the video we can see the beloved Dave Grohl playing drums when he was part of this band.

8. Satisfaction - Benny Benassi

Otra canción que no ha pasado de moda, se sigue escuchando y bailando es muchas fiestas. No es para menos, ya que ese gran bajo que se manda esta canción es brutal. Encontramos este tema en películas, memes, redes sociales, es una obra maestra de la música electrónica.

Another song that has not gone out of style, is still listening and dancing at many parties. It is not for less, since that great bass that this song sends is brutal. We find this theme in movies, memes, social networks, it is a masterpiece of electronic music.

9. Is Everything Real? - The Frozen Autumn

Yo a mis 7 años no era tan underground como años más adelante, pero me hubiera gustado encontrar esta canción en esa época. Para mi es una de las mejores canciones del Darkwave, combina todo, sintetizadores, un ritmo muy bailable, buena composición y ese aire tan oscuro de este estilo. Seguro los góticos de esos años bailaron este súper temazo.

At 7 years old, I wasn't as underground as years later, but I would have liked to find this song at that time. For me it is one of the best darkwave songs, it combines everything, synthesizers, a very danceable rhythm, good composition and that dark air of this style. Surely the goths of those years danced this super song.

10. En El 2000 - Natalia Lafourcade

Hace algunos días hablaba con una amiga sobre esta cantante. Le dije que Natalia llevaba muchos años sacando música y le mostré esta canción. Se que últimamente ella se hizo viral por el tema "Hasta La Raíz", pero es increíble que hayan pasado 20 años desde su debut como solista, me niego a creer que este año cumpliré 27 años.

A few days ago I was talking to a friend about this singer. I told her that Natalia had been making music for many years and I showed her this song. I know that lately she went viral for the song "Hasta La Raíz", but it's incredible that 20 years have passed since her debut as a soloist, I refuse to believe that this year I will be 27 years old.
