Your Memories
Every morning I wake up, full of hope,
That this day will be great and I'll cope,
With everything that's thrown my way,
And accomplish what I want, come what may.
But as the hours pass by, my mind wanders,
To memories of you, and my heart ponders,
On all that we had and all that we shared,
And how life without you feels so bare.
I miss you more with every passing day,
And the memories of us won't go away,
It feels like it was just yesterday,
When we laughed and loved in our own way.
I freeze up, and tears threaten to fall,
But I hold them back, standing tall,
Knowing that crying won't bring you back,
And memories of the past won't change the fact.
Another day is wasted in thoughts of you,
And nothing seems to get me through,
The pain and the longing that I feel,
For a love that was once so real.
So I gather my strength and try to move on,
Though it feels like the road ahead is long,
I know that I'll always cherish the past,
But I must live in the present, and make it last.
