The right way to care for our Cats

Caring for cats requires a lot of responsibility and attention and thats simply because they are kings and queens in our homes. Well seriously, I am also not sure whether they are our homes our theirs. And if you have a Kitty, you will absolutely understand what I am talking about! So actually we are their loyal servants who should ensure their comfort and well-being.

Manyy people might say that cats do not show affection in the same way that humans do or dogs do. Yes! That might be true, but they have their own unique ways of expressing their emotions and love towards us. One common way cats show love is through physical touch, such as rubbing their head or body against our faces or legs. I love them when they do it and also purr. It is such a cute loving act. And that shows also their happiness and relaxation. Some of them might bring small gifts. Well of course not what we expect :) It can be a dead mouse or bird. Yes, I know what you mighht think, but they are hunters afterall.

So the first thing cats think about after a warm comfortable place to sleep in food. And they keep asking for it all day long, meowing, climbing your pants or jumping on the table while you are eating. Besides their food, they want to try everything we eat as humans. I had cats eating green salad, spaghetti and even figs. It is funny but I will tell you a short story. "We hat 2 small kittens that we used to feed dry food at that time. I prepared a green salad and left it on my desk. And when I came back both of them were eating it. Imagine a kitten eating green salad like spaghetti". It was a funy scene and I think I still have the photos somewhere. I will surely share them soon.

Of course I am not saying that we should feed our cats green salad because they need a balanced and nutritious diet. It is very crucial for our cat's health and well-being. Feeding them high-quality food that meets their nutritional needs will keep them healthy and they wouldnt have any digestive problems or obesity. Providing clean and fresh water everyday is also important to keep them hydrated mostly in the hot summer days.

We all know that cats are natural hunters and they are always ready to engage in any physical activity. Provide them with plenty of toys will keep them active, healthy and happy and mentally stimulated. They love toys and want us to play with them and sometimes if we dont, they will come and ask us to join. We had a cat who used to bring her toy every hour and start meowing "Play with me"! That was very cute even if we didnt have enough time to play with her as we had to work and do other things as well. But she was always happy :) A safe and secure outdoor area is also good to explore, hunt and play in.

Kitties are very clean animals and love to keep their fur clean. They dont really need our help with that, yet brushing their fur regularly helps remove loose hair and prevent matting, and they love it! Trim your cat's nails regularly to prevent them from getting too long and causing discomfort. I personally prefer the vet to do, as I have to courage to do that. But I do regularly clean the litter box :)
