My quarantine survival story
We all know how tough the quarantine period was for everyone. It was a time when we were all stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that's for the first time in our lifetime. But even in those dark days, there were some moments that made us laugh and helped us survive the disaster. So, in this blog post, I want to share some of the memorable things that happened during my quarantine period.
I remember the first day of quarantine. We were all feeling pretty scared and uncertain. I personally coudnt believe what was happening. Some people were posting about their fear on Facebook group, not knowing what the future was going to bring them. Others were worried about their kids, pets and didnt know whom they should trust. Some of them even left their pets on the streets thinking they might bring them the virus. Actually that was very sad and very wrong but luckily some of those pets found new homes with people who really cared for them.
But soon enough after the shock, funny moments started rolling in. Creative people came up with funny videos about toilet papers and covid discos. Thats when I decided to make cats videos for TikTok and Youtube as well. I started looking for opportunities online instead of complaining about what is happening outside. Well actually there was nothing going on outside. It was similar to a Zombie movie. The streets were empty and still. No humans, no cars, no noise and no pollution. Just few hungry cats looking desperately for food because all restaurants were closed.
During that time, everybody was trying to learn new things. New hobbies or new useful courses. Many people went back to education or changed careers. Thats when I started looking for online universities to have a degree. And the quarantine made it easier because many of them started offering online courses. Besides, I was learning how to prepare many vegan meals and cakes. I had a lot of fun experimenting even when I had to wait long for the flour to be available in supermarkets. It gave me some much-needed distraction from what was happening, and I eventually stopped watching News and became somehow disconnected. I was living in my own small world trying to make my dreams true whether I survive it or not. I became close to my neighbors since we were all locked in the same building. We had a lot of fun together playing games and Ludo was our favorite at that time. We used to play it even online when we didn't have time to meet. We had also daily coffee meetings to discuss the latest.
So, to sum it up, the quarantine period was definitely a challenging time for all of us, but we learned a lot from it. Despite all the difficulties and everything we went through, we still found moments of joy, fun and laughter. We need to keep remembering that finding humor in tough times can be a powerful way to get through them. So why not share some of your own quarantine stories in the comments section? I am sure that everyone of us has a special story. Let's spread some laughter and positivity!

I’m so pleased you wrote this. As you know, I currently have COVID, so was feeling down in the dumps about it, but your post has made me smile! The toilet rolls situation will forever be remembered 😂 You have made me look back over the lockdown period and have have so much to be grateful for during that time. My partner and I spent the whole spring and summer months outside at our allotment and had so much fun! We also spent time down at our field with our dogs and have some amazing memories due to the time off work. Thank you for writing this! 😃
Oh yes toilet paper, pasta and flour were all the time missing. We started having them again after weeks. I was living in a flat so kept just looking at the empty streets from the windows. But in the same time I felt somehow free and had no stress about work or anything else. It was just a long holiday that I enjoyed.
You are lucky to have dogs and a field where you can spend some time and feel fresh. Thank you for sharing your experience and hopefully Covid will become soon a history. Thats all we can hope for. Bless you!
