NIGERIAN YOUTHS BLOCKED LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY OVER BAD GOVERNANCE IN THE COUNTRY
Hello friends!
I love this great move by Nigerian youths to express their discomfort in the country.
Angry Nigerian youths took it to Lagos-Ibadan road blocked it and protest over bad governance, bad roads, and insecurities in the country. Youths had it up to their necks, they can't endeavor the bad Nigerian government, their poor performance in securities sector of the nation, the poor infrastructure since independent in 1960, bad road construction in most part of the country while greater part of the country has no motorable roads at all, a country so blessed with natural resources and cruel oil. But very poor in developmental plans and implementation. Because of these and others, caused the angry youths to took their reaction to Lagos-Ibadan road to demonstrate their anger by locking the most busiest road and stopped all movement immediately.
The excise took place on Monday, as they brought traffic at the Berger end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to a standstill over what they described as “untenable state of affairs" of the country. The angry youths during protest said that roadblock is the only way to response to the bad governance that plunged Nigerians into an “unprecedented level of hardship.”
Meanwhile, the ever growing youths came out in a large number to cried out the bad state of Nigeria and embezzlement of funds of Nigerian politicians who diverted the public funds into their private use leaving masses to suffer. They youths expressed their aggressive anger by holding out a large banner with the inscription,‘Questions for the politicians and religious leaders,
WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF NIGERIA?’
The angry youths vowed to cripple movement nationwide including Airports in the country.
The question is necessary and timely in real sense, what is the future of Nigeria when the nation is overtaken by bandits, gunmen, militancy, Boko Haram groups and herdsmen while the politicians on other hand, embezzle funds and dump them in foreign countries while some bury them in bank tank and in their houses. Awarded contracts are been abandoned due to inadequate funds, foreign debt growing daily without hope of paying back, educational sectors are depreciating as days gone by.
Public sectors have been overwhelmed by corruption while unemployment keeps increasing at increasing rate. And greater attention has been diverted to governance and administration while production sectors are suffering setback. Nigerian currency (Naira) are losing value daily imagine N1 to $0.0024 causing inflation rate to raise above a poor fate.
Also Nigerian youths in other states of the country had vowed to join the protest as there will be no more movement nationwide until everything is put in place.
Enough to embezzlement of funds by our politicians, enough to kidnapping, insurgency, killing, attack, bombing and destructions of properties.
This protest is for the betterment of all Nigerians, because if we keep quiet, things will continue to get worse. We don’t know what will become of this country in the next five to 10 years with the current level of insecurity, corruption and economic hardship.
The youths are fed up with the status quo and would not rest until the Federal Government woke up to its responsibilities to Nigerians.
Nigeria’s governance system doesn’t encourage accountability and the people who supposed to talk are being sealed up with peanuts. Only a fool would celebrate darkness, bad governance, corruption, banditry. Nigerians are angry; even those who may not come out physically to express it but they're ready to let the government come and answer them even if they meant to kill them.
We are not stopping here; there are other places — Anambra, even the north. Everything in Nigeria is hard. They know what they are doing; corruption is everywhere. We’re doing it peacefully, but if they want violence, we are ready.”
