Are we honest on social media?

“Fake it till you make it”

You've probably heard this phrase on social media. But have you ever considered whether this is the best approach? Is this a safe place to be? Is it helpful for our feelings of self?

Nowadays, almost everyone has a social network account. From the moment they wake up until the end of the day, they share their experiences. They are constantly striving to make their moment ideal. Is it true that having a lovely photo makes the situation ideal? Do you believe this is an accurate depiction of someone's life?

It resulted in unreasonable life expectations. This is why social media contributes to stress and anxiety: we fail to reflect our true selves. Self-love now comes from external affirmation rather than internal acceptance.

One of my friends, a blogger with quarter-million followers, stopped using social media. I inquired as to how it had affected her life.

She explained, "It’s been four months, and it transformed my life. There was constant pressure to share everything from a cup of tea to major life accomplishments. When I reflect on how occupied I was with social media apps, I even consider buying followers. But then I began to feel that I was not this person. I was depressed, and then it clicked on me that I needed to stop doing it. Now I am free to feel anything I want, whether I am joyful or unhappy. I have complete freedom to thought, act, and feel. There's no need to be scared about being judged. I'm more concerned about my professional goals. My relationships are improving as a result of the time I have devoted to them. I'm not saying it's bad, but it is a threat in this context."

Do you believe it has an impact on our self-esteem?
