Wrong Diagnosis! | Random Chamber Talk | January 02, 2024

Yesterday I published a snap praising a patient for his pain tolerability. However, my initial diagnosis was wrong!

He was one of the last patients on that day. He came with severe pain in this right loin. Due to extreme pain, he couldn't walk straight. He also had a history of passing red urine, along with a somewhat burning sensation during urination. Considering the history and pattern of the pain, I was quite certain that it was a ureteric stone case. Not having an ultrasound facility, I suggested a urine test.

I was expecting "numerous RBCs, and Crystals" in the test results. But, the results revealed numerous Pus cells! There were some RBCS but not to the level of a stone case. I then asked him about any recent sexual exposure. He tried to deny it, but it was not a firm denial! The report also didn't support him!

It was a urinary tract infection case, not a renal stone. Hence, my initial assumption was wrong!

I don't think anyone will tell the truth about sexual matters. They would rather be sick than embarrassed. I hope they will understand that a healthy body means you can do it again LATER. You're still doing a good job because it's their problem, not telling the truth for diagnosis. ._. !LOL

That is why you run tests. Things are not always as we think.

The man was probably embarrassed to admit to doing anything.

Tough call i imagine with some of these symptons expect that is why there are so many test's for various issues have a successful year ahead my friend.
