Drone view of my home town!

As a volunteer, I often make some pictures for a local online news website about our community. It's called the Zeistermagazine.nl It's a bloggers style website were different people have all kinds of blogs about everything that is going on in and around the village of Zeist! I have my own photography blog there!
I try to capture the village in a totally different way, like no one has ever seen! And than a drone gives a nice perspective!

I didn't flew my drone a lot the past year, but autumn is a nice time to fly above the colorful trees! The autumn colors look even more spectacular from the sky! I also tried to fly above the neighborhood where I live! That still feels a little illegal to do, because the rules in the Netherlands have changed! Now we have to comply with the European rules!
So last year I had to followed two courses to get my official license to fly my drone across Europe! I did pas that so that was pretty cool. With those papers I am aloud to fly over residential areas, something that was still forbidden two years ago!

As you can see, during the construction of this residential area, they didn't cut down all the trees but the build around them! Of course they had to cut down many, but it still looks like I live in the middle of the forest!

If you look in the first picture, above the crooked horizon, you can see the high rise of the city of Utrecht! And the second picture, on the top left corner, you see two apartment complexes! thats where i live!

The next pictures I took when I was riding my bike trough the forest! I predicted a nice sunset and took my drone with me! The building you see here, is a local bar/restaurant/podium, its called The Beaufort house witch is build in an old church! I have photographed a wedding there last September and i promised them some nice drone pictures!
This establishment is located at the beginning of a 17 km (11 miles) long mountain bike trail! It's such a nice area for hiking and biking!

I love how the road is cutting the forest in half! Well not really because it can be very busy there but from a birds eye view it looks pretty cool!

And then it was time for sunset! I still find that pretty difficult to photograph because of the very difficult light circumstances! I do have a ND graduated filter for my drone but it's not standard in my bag! realty need to take that with me more often!

I hope you liked this post of drone pictures of my home town and the surrounding forest! I love to hear what you think of it! Also don't hesitate to give me some feedback if you think I can do something different! Thank you for reading my post!

I love using a drone to make videos and pictures from above, I think is a nice way to capture things in an alternative way (at least for now, since the use of drones is becoming more and more popular, so maybe in some years it will become mainstream to do it) ... loved the pictures of your hometown, thanks for sharing

I started in 2017 with my first drone! So i have more practice then the rest of the photographers who are just starting out now! 😅 But I still think it's difficult, flying, looking where you go and controlling the camera! 😵

These are nice, I also love seeing the different parts of our town from above.
Our colorful fall is over and nothing but white with snow now for the next couple months.
