#Foodfriday - Dim Sum 😍
Hey foodies I'm back!
Welcome to another edition of #Foodfriday, where I unleash my inner foodie.
This time I'm going to proclaim my love for yet another popular food (depending on where you live).
Last time I talked about Sushi:

This time I'm talking about DIM SUM!
It might be my Chinese ancestry (grandma's side), it might be my unique taste or it might be my love for breakfast that can also be brunch, lunch or even later. I hope I haven't upset anyone traditional with that last sentence. But I'm just saying I can eat dim sum any time of the day!!!
Back in the day...
Now let's go back.. Back in time.
See when I was a young warthog... When I was a young waaaaaarrrtthoooooooog.
I used to love Saw Paw!!!
Those are the white buns filled with meaty goodness. Before you ask, yes I've seen a different spelling, I've even seen it being called "bapaw" in the Netherlands but I'm just gonna stick with what I call them.
Anyway that's where it started. That was a special treat we got about once a month because special place close to my mom's work made them fresh.
How I got to know Dim Sum
I was completely clueless to the vast Chinese breakfast menu! 😂😂😂.
That is untill I went to live in the Netherlands. This is where all Surinamese peeps, that live or have friends in Rotterdam, know about Tai-Wu...
That my friends is where I got properly introduced to the art of Dim Sum.
Funny, I grew up in Suriname and I know for a fact that it was also available there but I never knew about it. Friends brought me to these places in Rotterdam (similar to my Sushi experience) and broadened my horizons.
One things for sure, I'd recognize a Saw Paw anywhere! 😂😂😂😂😂
Now, everytime I go to Suriname, there are at least a few Dim Sum days 😁.
The pics!
Do you recognize these dishes?
What's your favorite?
That's it for me today. As always you can connect with me in the comments.
Cheers,
Ps. This is post 27 of 30 of the #HiveBloPoMo challenge! I'm almost there 😎.
I also got introduced to Dim Sum at a way later age less than ten years ago and also through friends. We have a core group with that we used to Dim Sum with every month. We miss it though, because of Rona we can't sit in and it was besides having a food coma also a social event for us.
Damn I love me some dim sum! Looks delicious dude
