Hive Power, HBD, Liquids Hive, Resource Credits, Vests are some terminology used in the Hive ecosystem. To a newbie those are confusing terms (and many time for a users on chain form years too). Ay first I also get confused but when I start digging I got some clarity. The Hive token can be in two forms in Hive ecosystem one is Liquid Hive and another is staked Hive or we also known as the Hive Power. The liquid Hive can be convert into other token or we can say can be sold in market immediately but the staked Hive or Hive Power has locking period and you need to unstack them and convert into liquid form to sell them.

The Hive Power for a user comes with different advantages and benefits. The first is the increase in resource credits when the Hive Power increases. For any transection on Hive blockchain requires some level of resource credit here the transection means posting any comment or long form post, transfer of fund, upvoting, rebloging etc. The Hive power also represent the status of user in Hive ecosystem. These status starts with the Redfish followed by the Minnow, Dolphin, Orca and Whale.

I always think that the Hive power is the deciding criteria for the different status but I was wrong. Instead of the Hive Power the Vests are the status deciding resource of any account. Vests and the Hive power are the similar and represent the same thing on hive blockchain. Vests actually is the unit of measurement that represent the stake of a user in the hive network. Below picture though more light on vests required for different status on Hive Blockchain.

Now question is how to find the VESTS for a particular user account. Its very simple their are more then may ways you can check for same. Their are many sites or tools which shows those details. First is project by @hivebuzz and you can check the website https://hivebuzz.me , enter the user name to see the details. Here is the screen shot form site for my account.

Just below my user name (left top side) you can see the fish symbol which represent my status and just below that you can find the VESTS for my account which is 9,756,859 at the time, I am drafting my post.

Other then hivebuzz the https://hiveblockexplorer.com & https://hivexplorer.com also some websites where you can also find the details.

Completed the 5.5k Hive Power Milestone

I am pleased to announce that I have successfully reached a Hive power of 5,500, bringing me step closer to achieving Dolphin status. precisely I am holding 5663.42 Hive power. I am participating in powerup day every month and never power down the staked Hive in my account. I am eager to the get my Dolphin status and hopefully will achieve the same in coming month. Initially I always though that its all about the Hive power we own in our account and owning at least 5K hive power make us the Dolphin in hive ecosystem.

Lets check how much Hive Power is required in my account for Dolphin Status

As we know know that the VESTS are the basic requirement for different status on Hive blockchain and I am holding 9,756,859 VESTS at present and slightly more then 5663 Hive Power also. I required at least 10 000 000 VESTS which means 243141 more VESTS are required. To know the Hive Power requirement we have to check the VESTS equivalent to the 1 Hive Power.

5663.42 Hive Power is equals to the 9,756,859 VESTS

So 1 Hive Power is equals to the 9,756,859/5663.42 = 1722.78 VESTS (approximately)

To get additional 243141 VESTS I required 141.13 more Hive Power.
To in total 5804.55 Hive Power is required for some one to get the Dolphin status. If I want to achieve the the target I need 71 HP per month. I am still optimistic that I will achieve the same in coming month.
