I enjoy putting these videos together to give a inside look at everything that goes on here on the Gubba Homestead. If you enjoy these types of videos as well let me know in the comments below or if there's anything in particular from the homestead you enjoy seeing the most.

This summer soon we might be introducing a new animal to the homestead! Can you guess what it is?

Those water hydrants do like to freeze but one trick to help prevent the pipe from bursting is to let it drip. Can be viewed as wasting water, sure, if your water is piped in and you don't collect it. If it's pond water or something, can just throw the ice on the pond and get most of the water back in spring. And everything I just said doesn't always go according to plan. Plenty of better options, yes.

oh for sure! It was one of the coldest winters ever this year well into the negatives. I'll be getting this one fixed and then wrapped to help it survive the next winter. Hopefully not so cold lol I got tired of it this year and happy spring is now showing up.

I'm Canadian so every winter is the coldest, ever. -40 is "normal" apparently, but I tend to disagree on those days. Especially when in the middle of nowhere, and the pipes freeze.

The chickens here talk amongst themselves about learning to fly south in the winter, I'm sure of it.
