Moo Is Due Soon!
This is my cow MOO, she's a jersey cow I got back in May and pregnant! The farm I got her from was a small dairy farm that was downsizing. I fell in love with her and knew she would have a great home here on the Gubba Homestead.
She's expecting to give birth towards the end of this month and I'm hoping for a girl so I can have two Jersey milk cows. I create butter and cheese from her cream and drink the raw milk myself.
It's been a journey with her so far but we have developed a strong bond. At first she wanted nothing to do with me and often had issues figuring out the station I had built and what to do. After a few weeks though and giving her a treat of grains while I milk her she walked right in on her own and just waits. It's amazing!!! She also lets me touch her and I've found her following me around a bit when she's not off visiting the horses near the edge of my property.
As you can see she's a big girl lol
I can't wait for the first birth here on the Gubba Homestead and I hope to be sharing that with you all soon!

Awwn, she sure is a big girl!
I wish Moo a safe delivery and I also hope it's a girl too 😊.
I guess it's natural for animals to get sensitive when it comes to getting used to their new owners. I'm glad to hear that she adapted pretty well and you two now share a strong bond.
Greetings! 💕
I should have pictures and a bit announcement soon!
Lol your post really sounds hilarious,
save delivery to her
She surprised me in the morning lol big announcement coming soon!
really big announcement coming can't wait to hear that from you... all ears 👂
There was a jersey cow farm I worked at in Santa Rosa back in 2010. It was great times! 50% cream and 50% milk. So much cheese and memories!
Did you test for A2 A2?
So much cream! One day she gave me like 80% cream it was the best lol
That is awesome!
The Farm owner would give me full cream glasses almost daily before working around the farm!
They would send cow tail hairs all the way to Switzerland to test for the a2 a2 gene!
How do you milk them? I never milked them but they had a old school motor pump set after getting carpal tunnel.
Well, anyways glad you are doing amazing things successfully while also sharing here on Hive with us!
such a sweet animal!
She's the best ♥️
