Have you ever seen a chicken hatch?

I hadn’t until today.

My chicks have been hatching in the incubator and I happened to catch this baby chick hatch from start to finish! Both of my olive eggs have hatched, and I am sure hoping everyone is a hen LOL. Do you think it’s a hen or a rooster?

Chicken math is the real deal!

I love my chickens and they’re so fun to have around the farm. I provide them with food, shelter, and water and they provide me with entertainment and farm fresh eggs! I can’t wait to get more chickens this year. I started with 16, and I am down to 13… that just means I need like 10 more ya know?

With more chickens, comes more eggs. You can give away your fresh laid eggs to neighbors, friends, or family. You can even preserve your farm fresh eggs by freezing scrambled eggs or water glassing clean eggs! I also freeze dry scrambled eggs to add to my long term food storage.

Chickens also provide natural compost in their droppings which can be added to your compost to turn into beautiful soil. Chickens till the land and they are seriously so funny to just watch! I would recommend chickens to anyone who can have them. Did I mention they can eat most kitchen scraps?

Of thee 12 eggs I placed in the indubator 7 hatched.
One sadly didn’t make it to the next day as it came out of its shell too early on it’s own. That leaves me with 6 chicks running around along with the 4 extras I bought at the farm store.
