Have you ever have seen a Fire Salamander in real?

I remember a very foggy memory from my childhood, seeing one close to a creek. But within a period of 25 years, I haven't seen a single Salamander.
Since some days ago.
On my trip with Lluna, after the Hangab course, we were working and visiting friends in Swiss. On one day it started raining, and because the days before were really hot the weather changed rapidly and temperature dropped a few centimetres. That day, Lluna was immersed into tattooing, and we offered her first client that I take her to the station by car so that Lluna can continue with her art.
After the sunset, I drove our friend to the station to SchΓΆtz. But our way wasn't as usual as a Swiss evening. The rain cleaned trees from dead small branches and leaves, spread them all over the roads. Also, many snails, slugs, and worms were happily on the road, partying on the wet and warm asphalt, rocks, and stones. Not only was that challenging enough, driving around all party creatures. No, I spotted through thick raindrops small weird looking branches amongst all other creatures and stuff, which made me curious.
My fellow passenger realised my difficulties, laughed about my kindness, liked how I care about nature and living beings. β€œI needed to stop”, was I explaining to her, β€œbecause that branches look like an amphibian.”. I jumped out of the car, followed by her, and the branch turns into a Salamander. A Fire Salamander.

We were so happy to see one. What a lovely creature.

After I dropped her off at the train station, so many Salamanders were hanging out on the road on my way back. So many! I passed probably 15. I had to stop and shove them politely from the road that I could continue driving.

Small and big ones. Some more blackish, others were dominated by yellow dots.

Maybe my guess about amphibians and hot road love is wrong and their just see the road as their big brother.

Lluna and I went for a walk after my arrival, so she could see them as well. We did see another one. Huge and pretty.
A nice walk through the rainy night.

Did you know that Fire Salamander can age up to 50 years?

So cool! Been a while since I saw one, last one was crossing a hiking trail. Unfortunately I tend to find them flattened on the road...

There's a ton of species so near at any time, we have no ideia; one of the biggest hedgehogs I've seen was near my parents house, in a completely urban area!

You are so right. I just image the nocturnal species, that's already two universes 😎

Let's keep three eyes on it and move consciously through our surroundings, so we can explore infinity πŸ‘οΈπŸ‘οΈπŸ‘οΈ

These are absolutely gorgeous! I don't remember ever seeing one in nature myself, maybe only in a zoo or something when I was a kid. Stunning! I would definitely stop as well haha, I'm the same. These events are rare so it's nice to take a moment and watch it.

Thanks for sharing <3
