[LOH #155] Taking Care Of Your Physical And Mental Health During Hormonal Imbalance

Welcome To My Blog

Hello friends, happy new week.
Well for me, I am starting the week with the weekly prompt of the @ladiesofhive community. Do well to join here

Being a woman is not easy as some challenges we experience are hormonal imbalance due to menstruation, pregnancy and menopause.
I'm still a young person who has only experienced menstruation and in future will experience pregnancy and at an older age menopause.
Menopause is a period where a woman is aged and cannot conceive again.

Even during menses I know what I experience that period, the cramps, the mood swings , and loss of appetite. Sometimes when the pain becomes unbearable I take pain relief to help me a little.
I don't know how the body works but menses can really have a lot of effects on your mental health like being sad or angry over little things that normally I shouldn't be. Those periods I decide to be alone and indoors so I don't do things I might regret later when I feel much better.

Here are some practical ways I take care of my mental and physical health during menstruation:

Eat healthy:
Even an hungry person is an angry person. During menses or pregnancy it is advisable to eat healthy food that includes a balanced diet and fruits. It helps your hormones replace blood that's removed from your body and helps the child in case of pregnancy .

Exercise:
When I am on my menses I notice if I am just indoors on the bed I experience more pains when I am outside being busy. Same with pregnancy, it is advisable to exercise yourself so you won't be in so much pain.

Quality sleep:
You need to have a good amount of sleep to help you regulate your mood and also help you energy.
If I notice I'm having mood swings I prefer to relax my mind and do something fun like listening to music.
Also taking my bath frequently helps me feel refreshed.

Thank you for reading

I don't know abut pregnancy but I can tell you pages about my experience as a women
You bleed for 40 years in lifetime!! , it’s a long time, that, you bleed till your 50 years, sucks na, even though actually birth giving period should practically end by 35 years, max 40, but that’s quite old.

At a young age, periods is ok, but as you get old if your lifestyle is not good, all that you mentioned, you will be stressed and that could cause problems in menstruration.

Stress can actually cause crysts in the ovaries. It’s happened to me, its horrible, its called PCOS
Discharges, pain, weight gain, anemia … some things and emotional baggage, can’t mention it here!!
You won’t have the ability to live life to fullest and PCOS can cause problems in fertility and that leads to depression.

Also, cigarette smoking, excess alcohol, and long term over the counter abortion pills can effect menstrunal pattern cause abnormalities.

Women can’t afford to be reckless like men, they have to be careful, outspoken, courageous way more than men.

Like if you do have intercourse also, have it responsibily because it can infections, discharges, it can be very difficult, choose the partner whose worth it, who respects and connects with you than a man who only wants pleasure out of your body!! (cheap assholes)

Also, go to a good doctor, who understands us, rather than judges you insensitivily, its very important

Now, personally, I bleed a lot…literally so was anemic most of my youth, or all I guess.
So, understand your bleeding patterns and tweek lifestyle accordingly.

Post 35 years, I actually started using menstrunal cup and it took a while to get used to it.

So, its good, like more freedom for someone who used to use plastic disposable pads earlier. No wetness. But it’s challenge getting used to Mcups.

I undertood I bleed a lot and actually got emapatic towards myself on what I had to bear all the years. I undertood this only after using Mcups, because through it you can measure how much you bleed!!

I would advise young people to try Mcup too… because it collects discharge, and it feels free but it can take a while to get used to it and insert and remove it correct, that process is pretty bloody.

Bloody Mary we call it!!

It would help you live your life fully as when its inserted well, no leakages and you can do quite some of the physical activities.

Well… still as a women, and I am not a accompalished one but still would say, women to understand their strength and capacity to bear pain and feel proud of it.

It’s not easy atall, to be a women for a lot of more reasons, but we have to embrace our feminity and rise above our challenges and be proud of being women, weather you become a biological mom or not.

Also, its not required that you need to give birth to be a complete women, you can adopt and become a mom as well, or adopt pets and become pet parents(: ... no compulsion to procreate!!

About pregnancy, what you said is correct, but it’s a challenge getting your body back in shape, after baby, no time to exercise and you may not have time to rest and recover as much as you want.

During pregnancy, there will be anxiety on how the child will be inside, weather he/she will come out fine. So double care.

Obviously, need more nutrients to feed featus, and for breast milk which is very important for baby, till they turn 1 year atleast.

And I have no idea how women bear the pain of giving birth, but we all have that strength and more and makes me wonder why the hell are we were ever branded the weaker sex, because we are not.

Just be happy with your body, and sharpen it to its capacity and do wonders your way.

Well… I admire women, because I was not a proper one with substance, almost quite a disgrace, but still I admire and love them and I am not gay, they truly amazing, and strong women inspire me even now, many much older than me.

Also their capacity to love and be kind is very soothing!! Respect to them, world needs to be kinder to us!!

These tips are very helpful to deal with the days. Good sleep is what I believe in the most, if the body is well rested then it is able to deal with the crises in a much better way
