Life Taught Me Having Siblings Are Everything

Hello friends, it's a new week and I wish you an amazing week ahead. Here this week @hivelearners graced the week with different editions of their weekly prompt. Glad to participate in week 69, edition 1.

There are 6 of us in my family. One boy and 5 girls. The boy is the last and whoever asked me about this will always say we go to 6 because my parents were looking for a boy. One day I asked and my dad said he was okay with the girls but my mum really wanted a male Maybe because of fear of who would continue the lineage and God blessed them.

Maybe if we had a boy earlier I wouldn't be even given birth in that family but everything happens for a reason. I'm the 5th girl then, my brother.I have 4 older sisters and 2 are married. That's where the joy of having a girl it's been enjoyed. 4 bride price and even early grandchildren.

When I was much younger, I always wished I was the only child or the only girl in the midst of boys. I see those who have older brothers and how they treat them. They treat their elder sister like an egg and I really enjoyed it. Even my brother I see the kind of favor he enjoys.
The worst was when everyone was growing up and none of my sisters were married the house was so full. Like 6 children and my cousin's sister who lived with us. I didn't have time to have my space and I loved being in my space. My quiet time, my personal room, but I wouldn't get that. My elder sister will always send me on errands. The only thing I enjoyed working was that the work was shared among us.

My mum will always say " Even though I give birth to 100, all of you must work because you're girls". Even with my sisters at home I still at least learn how to cook and do. Things got even harder when my 3 elder sisters were in university and I and my elder sister were in secondary school. It was really not easy but Thank God we scale through and the economy then was better than now.

As I grew older I also saw the benefit of having those elder siblings. I can't say things are smooth because my immediate elder sister and junior brother are currently in school. So my parents will still have to share our allowance so it can get to us and I can't complain cus I have siblings in school too. Even when my brother got admission my school fees were delayed because he was to pay an acceptance fee and school fees of about 500. It was getting closer to the deadline and they extended it. I saw God was working for me

But since my 3 elder sisters are done and working. They are helping my parents in the little they can. And if I am broke in school I can call them to ask for support. No uncle or Aunty have given me a dime in this school except them so imagine they weren't there.
Siblings can be annoying but family is everything , they stay when everyone leaves.
