Every Opportunity Is Precious

I really don't believe this statement that opportunity arrives but once. I believe it will occur to you if it's really definite. And if you skip one opportunity you should learn and always make sure you see the better side and search for a better one next time.

Till today I am still angry with myself every time I remember how I lost a scholarship worth around $300 yearly for 4 years. It was a Shell scholarship. It wasn't because I didn't pass the test or didn't register but because I forgot my documents in school. Nobody realizes the strike last year would continue up to 8 months. We were just requested to leave for 1 month for the caution strike. Combined with that I remain 2 weeks in school, so it was just 2 weeks left. I didn't even worry about carrying much clothes due to the mentality I just had for 2 weeks. They prolonged it for another 2 months. During that moment I came across the scholarship from a friend of mine and chatted him up. I was interested and he has a direct connection so obtaining the scholarship wouldn't have been challenging. I was about to register when I was informed I needed my WAEC and Jamb results all I left in school in my box. I wouldn't journey to close since the deadline was already close. I was so sad that I neglected that possibility to get that scholarship. Nevertheless I contacted one of my buddies who studied in PortHarcourt where I located. She schools in PortHarcourt too so all her documents are with her because she attends school from home. She applied and received the scholarship. It was a confusing emotion though (happy and regretful) but at least someone around me was to get it. When she got paid she didn't even inform me about it, I learned it from one of her friends. How can someone be so ungrateful,give you my valuable opportunity and you're not grateful? I learnt my lessons though but that wouldn't stop me from being good. I know there will be tons more possibilities for me.

Opportunity Gained
Being in @hive is one of the greatest possibilities. There are individuals seeking this opportunity to earn, learn and interact with people. I'm happy when I was informed about hive I grasped the opportunity.
Also last year during that strike period, I used that opportunity to learn new skills . I didn't squander the opportunity by just remaining at home.

Just because I said I don't believe in opportunity occurs only once doesn't mean if you have a golden opportunity you shouldn't take it. Some possibilities arrived just once and that scholarship was an illustration. It was created for only 200level students and next time the scholarship will initiate I won't be qualified.
I also gained my lessons to always bring my certificates around, maybe as a softcopy in my phone in case of emergencies like this.
