En esta oportunidad les quiero compartir una reparación al evaporador del equipo de aire acondicionado que está ubiicado en la habitación de mi hija.

Recientemente les compartí una publicación donde les detallaba la forma de hacer mantenimiento a la consola y evaporador del equipo de aire acondicionado, porque le había mandado a hacer el servicio precisamente al equipo de mi hija.

Luego de hacerle el mantenimiento,se probó el equipo y todo funcionó bien, sin embargo mi hija estuvo de guardia esa noche y el aire se mantuvo apagado. Al día siguiente se produjo un apagón en todo el pais, que se prolongó por 20 horas y cuando mi hija encendió el equipo, se dio cuenta que solo estaba soplando aire sin enfriar.

This time I want to share a repair to the evaporator of the air conditioner that is located in the room of my daughter.
Recently I shared a publication where I detailed how to do maintenance to the console and evaporator air conditioning equipment, because I had sent him to do the service precisely to the team of my daughter.
After doing the maintenance, the equipment was tested and everything worked fine, however my daughter was on duty that night and the air remained off. The next day there was a blackout across the country, which lasted for 20 hours and when my daughter turned on the equipment, she realized that it was only blowing air without cooling.

Yo pensé que el compresor no arrancaba porque había que cambiarle el capacitor, entonces lo compré y se lo instalé pero el aire seguía sin enfriar y supuse que le faltaba gas al equipo. Llamé al técnico y lo primero que dijo fue: huele a quemado. Enseguida me vino a la mente que el compresor se había dañado y recordé el gasto que tuve que hacer al equipo de la sala comprándole un compresor nuevo.

Afortunadamente lo que estaba quemado era el ramal que alimenta eléctricamente al compresor. El ramal es un cable corto que contiene a su vez catro cables en su interior, tal como lo muestra la foto.

I thought that the compressor would not start because the capacitor had to be changed, so I bought it and installed it but the air still did not cool and I assumed that the equipment lacked gas. I called the technician and the first thing he said was: it smells burned. Immediately it came to mind that the compressor had been damaged and remembered the expense I had to make the living room equipment buying a new compressor.
Fortunately what was burned was the branch that feeds electrically to the compressor. The branch is a short cable which in turn contains four wires inside, as shown in the photo.

Ahí se aprecian los terminales quemados y al consultarle al técnico la causa de tal falla, me indicó que eso es producto de los apagones y que a los equipos hay que colocarles protectores para evitar que las subidas o bajadas de tensón afecten el equipo. En mi caso no le tengo protectores a los aires y no había bajado los breakers luego del apagón y cuando llegó la luz, no llegó con el voltaje adecuado y seguramente eso fundió los cables.

El técnico salió a buscar el ramal pero no lo encontró, así que optó por utlizar uno usado que le quitó a otro equipo. Me cobró 10 dólares por el cable y 15 por mano de obra. Queda de mi parte buscar a ver si consigo un ramal nuevo y que sea de buena calidad, espero que el instalado le dure mucho tiempo.

Para concluir quiero dejarles algunas recomendaciones para mantener tu equipo de aire acondicionado, que he aprendido con mi experiencia de uso:

There you can see the burned terminals and when I asked the technician the cause of such failure, he told me that this is the result of power outages and that the equipment must be placed protectors to prevent surges or voltage drops affect the equipment. In my case I have no protectors to the air and had not lowered the breakers after the blackout and when the light came, did not come with the proper voltage and surely that melted the wires.
The technician went out to look for the branch but did not find it, so he chose to use a used one that was removed from another team. He charged me $10 for the cable and $15 for labor. • Siempre que puedas, al encender tu aire cerciórate que el compresor arranca, ésto se sabe por el sonido que emite. También te das cuenta cuando el aire solo está ventilando sin enfriar.
• Utiliza el control remoto original para cada equipo
• Revisa periódicamente las baterías del control remoto para evitar que boten líquido y puedad dañarlo.
• Limpiar los filtros periodicamente, solo debes abrir la cónsola y sacar las rejillas plásticas, limpiarlas y volverlas a colocar
• Hacerle mantenimiento cada seis meses o cuando notes que bota agua o emita sonidos raros.
• Colocar protectores a cada equipo para protegerlo de los altibajos de tensión.
• Bajar los breakers luego de un apagón para evitar males mayores.
• Hay cosas que podemos hace nosotros mismos pero si tienes dudas es mejor llamar al técnico.
