Bake sweet potatoes in the oven / オーブンでいもを焼く

I baked sweet potatoes as a snack. This is a return gift from the hometown tax.

The first time we received sweet potatoes as a return gift (from a different municipality than this one), a piece of paper was enclosed in the box that was sent to us that said, "How to bake delicious sweet potatoes". According to that paper, you can bake them in the oven at 160 degrees Celsius for 90 minutes without any residual heat. What, you mean I don't even have to wrap it in aluminum foil or wet newspaper...? Well, I thought that since the sender said so, there must be no mistake, so I followed the instructions, and the baked sweet potatoes turned out really delicious. Since then, I always use this method when I eat sweet potatoes.

I usually bake thin or small ones whole. But today's was quite large, so I decided to cut it in half. In fact, after cutting it in half, I thought "Oh, I'll post it on today's blog" and took pictures, so the sweet potatoes in the first and second pictures are already cut. I carefully pasted the cut surfaces together and took pictures, but you might see a line in the middle... lol

When baked with the cut side up, only the surface resembles a crispy lid. This part is not skin, so you can eat it. It was like sweet potato chips. When I peel off the lid, the yellow and sweet part appears from the inside. Those long, slow-cooked sweet potatoes really taste good!

However, the lid is not particularly tasty (not bad), so I think next time I will try baking with the cut side down.

おやつにさつまいもを焼きました。このさつまいもはふるさと納税の返礼品です。

初めて返礼品にさつまいもをもらった時（今回の自治体とは別のところです）、送られてきた箱に「おいしいさつまいもの焼き方」と書かれた紙が同封されていました。その紙によれば、160℃のオーブンで、余熱なしで90分焼けばよいとのこと。え、アルミホイルや濡らした新聞紙で包む必要もないってこと・・・？！まぁでも送り主が言うのだから間違いないだろうと思いその通りにしたところ、本当に美味しく焼けました。それ以来、さつまいもを食べる時はいつもこの方法です。

細いものや、小さいものは丸ごとそのまま焼きますが、今日焼いたものはかなり大きかったので半分に切りました。実は半分にカットした後で「あ、今日のブログに載せよう」と思い写真を撮ったので、1枚目2枚目の写真のさつまいもはすでにカットされたものです。切断面を丁寧に重ね合わせて撮影しましたが、真ん中に線が見えるかも・・・w

切断面を上にして焼いたら、表面だけカリカリの蓋のようになりました。この部分は皮ではないので食べられます。さつまいもチップスみたいな感じでした。蓋を剥がすと、中から黄色い部分が現れます。長時間じっくり火を通したさつまいもは、本当に美味しい！

ただ蓋の部分は特別美味しくもないので（マズくはない）、次は切断面を下にして焼いてみようかな、と思います。
