Today I share with you my recent creation which is a big orange tote bag made with t-shirt yarn. It is the second bag I made for my wonderful customer. She ordered for 3bags and I've posted about the first bag. This second bag is bigger than the first bag and it was quite tasking for me. This was because in each number of row, the stitches has a particular number it has to be. It got to a point, I omitted one stitch and I had to loose the bag to the point of ommission and made sure I corrected that. Also it was a new design that I have never made before, like that particular handle. It took me longer time before I was able to figure out how to achieve that handle look. Fortunately, at the end of the day I was able to figure it out and the bag turned out well.

MATERIALS USED

• T shirt yarn
• A 6mm crotchet pin
• O-ring
• Bag anchor
• Rubber hooks(marker)

PROCESS

• The first thing I did was to make a chain of 10 and I started crotcheting around it to make a circular base. I repeated rows, increasing the stitches at edge to make it wider until I got the desired width and length.

• Once the base is completed, I started making new rows, maintaining the number of stitches and increasing them at intervals to make the tote bag more spacious.

• Upon reaching the desired height, i used rubber hooks to note where the bag handle will start from and where I will attach it to. Then I crotcheted the length of the handle, made an additional row, form a row stitch on top of the handle, make another row and cover the stitch up to form than bag handle design.

• Finally, I made the tassel and attached it to the bag.
