Un feliz día tengan todos mis queridos artesanos amantes del hilo y las agujas, hay un dicho muy popular que dice: “a caballo regalado, no se le mira colmillo“, recientemente alguien muy especial me regaló un vestido el cual me encantó, pero al probármelo no era tan grato como a simple vista, así que me tocó poner a pruebas lo poco que he aprendido en la costura para transformarlo.

Algo que siempre me ha gustado al vestirme es sentirme a gusto con la prenda que lleve puesta y esto no sucedía con este vestido, como ven en la foto primeramente es muy corto para mi gusto, pues no me gusta usar faldas o vestidos por encima de las rodillas, ni que se me suba en la parte baja trasera, por estilo de vida defiendo la modestia y soy de las que pienso que la mejor manera de dar testimonio de quienes somos es a través del ejemplo, así que por más que me guste un vestido o falda si no cumple con mis normas hay que remediarlo, y esto fue lo que hice con este regalo, de antemano le dice a la persona que me lo regaló que por norma debía hacerles algunos cambios y ella misma me llevo un retazo de tela negra para hacerle la transformación, así que solo me quedaba poner manos a la obra.
Something that I have always liked when I dress is to feel comfortable with the garment I wear and this did not happen with this dress, as you see in the picture first of all it is too short for my taste, because I do not like to wear skirts or dresses above the knees, nor that it rises in the lower back, by lifestyle I defend modesty and I am one of those who think that the best way to give testimony of who we are is through example, so no matter how much I like a dress or skirt if it does not meet my standards must be remedied, and this is what I did with this gift, beforehand I told the person who gave it to me that as a rule I had to make some changes and she herself took me a piece of black fabric to make the transformation, so I just had to get down to work.

Ya teniendo el vestido descosido, podría ver que corte debía realizar para los cambios necesarios, ajusté las partes delanteras y de espalda para realizar un corte a la cintura, seguido ajuste la parte de la falda y corte la parte que era del tirante, el cual reservé para ver cómo utilizarlo.

Ya teniendo el vestido en dos partes decidí usar la tela negra para la parte de la cintura, siguiendo el mismo modelo del vestido corté la parte delantera en una pieza y la de la espalda en dos piezas, y con la tela del tirante que corté le realizaré un ajuste a la parte trasera inferior de la falda para evitar que esta se me suba.
Having the dress in two parts I decided to use the black fabric for the waist part, following the same pattern of the dress I cut the front part in one piece and the back part in two pieces, and with the fabric of the strap I cut I will make an adjustment to the lower back part of the skirt to prevent it from riding up.
Ya teniendo todo cortado, procedí a coser primeramente la parte delantera, seguido ambas partes de la espalda y para culminar esta parte cosí la parte central de la espalda.

Si hay algo de que soy amante es de los bolsillos, siento que son muy necesarios en nuestras prendas, así que en esta transformación no podrían faltar, por lo que con pare dela tela negra aproveche para colocarle bolsillos ocultos a mi vestido, por lo que antes de proceder a cerrar el vestido por los costados, primero cosí cada una de las partes de los bolsillos tanto a la parte delantera como a la trasera del vestido, para luego cerrar los costados.

Después de terminar de hacerle los cambios al vestido me sentí muy complacida, pues al usarlo con toda tranquilidad puedo transmitirle esa sensación de agradecimiento y amor, a la persona que me lo regaló. Sé que al serle sincera acerca de mis normas ella puedo ver que su regalo era bien recibido y al aceptar que le hiciera los cambios necesarios me sentí muy bien por no hacerle sentir mal por lo corto del vestido, así ambas pudimos estar felices.
After I finished making the changes to the dress I felt very pleased, because when I wear it with all tranquility I can transmit that feeling of gratitude and love to the person who gave it to me. I know that by being honest with her about my standards she can see that her gift was well received and by agreeing to make the necessary changes I felt very good for not making her feel bad about the shortness of the dress, so we could both be happy.
