Overcoming depression, knitting a strawberry in a granny. (Es/En)

Feliz y bendecido viernes mis queridos compañeros artesanos de esta comunidad @NeedleWorkMonday es una semana más que termina y no quería dejar compartir con ustedes este mi último proyecto de la semana, les comento que me tomó mucho más tiempo en tejerlo que otros proyectos, no tanto por que fuera difícil de tejer sino porque me costaba mucho concentrarme en ello.

Happy and blessed Friday my dear fellow crafters of this community @NeedleWorkMonday is one more week that ends and I didn't want to stop sharing with you this my last project of the week, I tell you that it took me much longer to knit it than other projects, not so much because it was difficult to knit but because it was hard for me to concentrate on it.

Estas dos últimas semanas han sido de incertidumbre para la mayoría de los venezolanos tanto dentro como fuera del país, yo tengo un hijo fuera de Venezuela y tristemente como a él como a muchos en el país que se encuentra sus documentos estaban en trámites en el consulado y debido a que se rompieron relaciones políticas con ese país, su documentación quedó en el aire.

These last two weeks have been of uncertainty for most Venezuelans both inside and outside the country, I have a son outside Venezuela and sadly like him and many in the country his documents were being processed at the consulate and due to the breaking of political relations with that country, his documentation was left up in the air.

El día que tramitó su pasaporte me dijo: mamá estas navidades las pasamos juntos, más debido a lo ocurrido nuestras ilusiones se espumaron, pues se quedó solo con la documentación de ese país, por lo que por los momentos ese plan de vernos en diciembre lo vemos lejano.

Toda esta situación me causa un leve cuadro depresivo, mi creatividad quedó neutralizada, el ánimo lo tenía por el piso y solo quería correr, llorar y gritar, fue por ello que como ya les he comentado el tejer es para mí más que una pasión una terapia de autoayuda, así que después de mucha rabia e impotencia decidí tomar hilo y aguja, busqué en YouTube un video, que me había llamado la atención y comencé a tejer, siguiendo las instrucciones del video.

La primera vuelta de este proyecto fue algo fácil, pues inicio tal cual otros granny, más la segunda vuelta se me tornó algo dificultosa y lo tejí y destejí un sin fin de veces, pues mi mente me traicionaba y no podía lograr concentrarme o seguir la secuencia del tejido, más luego de x cantidad de intentos logré completar la vuelta.

This whole situation caused me a mild depression, my creativity was neutralized, my spirits were low and I just wanted to run, cry and scream, that's why as I have already mentioned knitting is for me more than a passion a self-help therapy, so after much anger and helplessness I decided to take thread and needle, I searched on YouTube a video, which had caught my attention and I started knitting, following the instructions in the video.

The first round of this project was somewhat easy, as it started just like other grannies, but the second round became somewhat difficult and I knitted and unknitted it countless times, as my mind betrayed me and I could not concentrate or follow the sequence of the knitting, but after x amount of attempts I managed to complete the round.

Las dos siguientes vueltas fueron ya más relajantes, y pude lograr mi cometido, liberar el estrés y la impotencia que he venido sintiendo. Al menos disminuyeron.

The next two laps were more relaxing, and I was able to achieve my goal, to release the stress and helplessness that I have been feeling. At least they diminished.

Ya teniendo el cuadro listo, tejer las hojas fue mucho más divertido, pues está compuesto de puntos rasos y cadenetas.

Once the chart was ready, knitting the leaves was much more fun, as it is composed of single and chain stitches.

Ya para finalizar tomé hilo y aguja lanera para darle unas puntadas simulando las semillas de la fresa.

Finally, I took thread and a wool needle to stitch some stitches simulating the strawberry seeds.

Este proyecto lo hice en aproximadamente unas 3 horas intercaladas, durante varios días pues en la segunda vuelta me ofuscaba y después de varios intentos, dejaba a un lado y lo retomaba luego de varias horas o al día siguiente; más me alegré mucho al lograr terminarlo y en especial de poder compartirlo con ustedes, una vez más puedo testificar que el tejido a crochet es mi mejor terapeuta en cualquier desafío que enfrente.

I made this project in approximately 3 hours, during several days because in the second round I was obfuscated and after several attempts, I put it aside and I would resume it after several hours or the next day; I was very happy to finish it and especially to be able to share it with you, once again I can testify that crochet is my best therapist in any challenge I face.
