My Hive Introduction.

Hello hive lovers,

I consider it a privilege to be in the Hive ecosystem. This is because of the opportunity it offers to people from all parts of the world to network, share knowledge and learn new things. I joined recently but have not introduced myself. This is because I didn't have a guild (I found hive through a twitter research). This caused me to wander through the streets of hive trying to figure out things for myself.

It was really fustrating.

I read several #introduceyourself posts and most of them mentioned @starstings01 as their mentor in hive. I started following his posts because I was lost. I saw he always post to hive Learners, so I joined the community too. I have not had any direct communication with him but I'm glad I was lead to this community. I also joined the discord server and met @reineesmay and she was so helpful. So today, I will introduce myself.

My name is Ejike Gift Nkechinyere. Ejike is my Surname while Nkechinyere is my native name. It means "gift from God". I'm a native of Onicha LGA, Ebonyi State in Nigeria. My hive username is @giftnk.

I studied Biomedical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria. I went ahead after graduation to serve my country through a program called NYSC. NYSC is an acronym which stands for National Youth Service Corps. It is a compulsory 1-year service requirements for young graduates in Nigeria. I taught during my service year. It was a memorable time for me as I contributed my quota to my nation and made new friends from all parts of the country.

Last day of NYSC

I'm done with the NYSC program and currently job hunting. This is not to say that I'm just sitting at home idling away my time. During this period of my life; I have been able to learn new skills. One of them is affiliate marketing which is making me a decent sum to keep body and soul together. I got into Crypto last year and I've been learning and practicing as much as I could. Then I discovered feeless blockchains. I found it fascinating that I could move my crypto around without having to pay fees. I then started looking out for feeless blockchains/coins with real utility. Then I found hive one day on Twitter and proceeded to the website to find out more. I read the white paper and found that hive has more than what I was looking for - its feeless, has utility, offers a platform where I can express myself, connect and make friends with people from all parts of the world, learn and even earn while at it.

Wow!

I'm super glad I found it. I already told my friend @ginic about it out of excitement and he has already created his own account.

I also help my mum with her business since all I do is online. She's into sale of Nigerian soup items like egusi(melon seeds), Ogbono seeds(seeds of Irvingia gabonensis - African bush mango), Achi flour( grinded Brachystegia Eurycoma seeds), ofor flour(grinded Detarium microcarpum seeds), etc. I identify most of these items with their local names but have added their botanical names for easy understanding.

Most of the listed items doesn't require much processing before sale. Only the Ofor and Achi does, which need to be fried, shelled, soaked and grinded. It's a whole lot of processing required.

I love swimming. It's one of the ways I unwind. It relieves me of tension, stress and unease. I also love to discover new things, appreciate nature and to play with children.

Welcome to the Hive community @giftnk!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. Do not open any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Hivians available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:

Have fun and happy Hiving!
