Feliz 90 Cumpleaños / Happy 90th Birthday

Un amigo mío ha viajado hasta Mineápolis con motivo del cumpleaños de su abuela. Una mujer que a sus 90 años sigue conduciendo su Cadillac y queda con sus amigos para tomar cervezas. El caso es que ayer, mi amigo me envió estas imágenes del atardecer en el lago que hay junto a la vivienda familiar.
Hace años, cuando Internet aún no estaba implementado de forma generalizada, cuando alguien iba de vacaciones y quería decirle a otra persona que se le recordaba, se le enviaba una tarjeta postal, y quizá alguna fotografía. En ocasiones, la postal llegaba a su destino después de que la persona que la había enviado hubiera vuelto de vacaciones, ahora es instantáneo.

A friend of mine travelled to Minneapolis for his grandmother's birthday. A woman in her 90s who still drives her Cadillac and meets her friends for beers. Yesterday, my friend sent me these pictures of the sunset on the lake next to the family home.
Years ago, when the internet was not yet widely implemented, when someone went on holiday and wanted to tell someone else that they were remembered, they would send a postcard, and maybe a photograph. Sometimes the postcard would arrive at its destination after the person who had sent it had returned from holiday, now it is instantaneous.
