High Up at Phukaew Peak Cafe
Hey Hive! Today I’m taking you to yet another thrilling place high up in the mountains. This little Cafe that is part of a villa type resort was probably the most amazing place we visited in Khao Kho. The sunset we managed to catch from the top was truly something spectacular.
Phukaew Peak Cafe
Phukaew Peak Cafe is part of the Phukaew Village resort. The resort itself is pretty cute, filled with colorful villas that have their own gardens and barbeques. It’s meant for bigger groups of people or families to enjoy some time in a big house up in the mountains. On top of this all though is a Cafe with an amazing view. To get up you need to pay a small fee and get on a dedicated transport that takes you up. We arrived just before they closed but that let us enjoy a beautiful sunset.
On one side there is a garden and quite a few instagramable ‘settlements’. Massive swings, ramps leading towards the edge of the hill etc.
This ramp was pretty cool. A bit scary but cool nonetheless. We never really went to the other smaller one since it was preoccupied but I'd say this one was probably the one with the better view.
These wooden pieces on the wall were for people to write something on and leave there. On one side they had the purpose of the message written: eg. Love, Money etc. It seemed a lot of immature people come up here though from what I've seen written. 😃
On the other side is the cafe itself which is just as impressive.
The view around was so nice and the light was perfect. The sun was down the whole time we were on the other side but once we moved to the cafe, the sunset was on full display.
I know the light on this one is way different but it was taken from Nat's phone, so hard to adjust it to the rest of the photos.
Just before we left the nets got freed up and we took the opportunity to sit around there. I'd say I'm scared of heights but that place is definitely worth it!
As a bonus I’d like to share one extra place we went to that was quite interesting. As I mentioned before the garden and flower theme was quite popular here but this one place we kept driving by was drawing a lot of attention. We could see some colorful fields but didn’t really know what lies behind the hill.
Flower Garden
On the top of the hill where we parked was yet another Cafe which we skipped going to. The hill we were on top of though, was surrounded by flowers. The scenery and view were amazing and we did take our sweet time going around exploring it all.
Nat kept asking me to pose as well and take photos of me but I'd say this is the least manliest place to take pictures in. I just enjoyed taking photos of her instead.
On the other side of the purple area was the very colorful field that was artificially made but still looked nice and interesting.
And last but not least - here are the beautiful surrondings which were equally stunning.
Thanks for reading everyone. Hope you enjoyed the photos and will be happy to see you on my next post that is going to be about the more tropical side of Thailand again. Have a great start of the week and I’ll see you in the next one!
