Movie Day

I had a change of routine over the weekend and my last 24 hours wasn't what it used to be. There is a saying that all work and no play makes George a dull boy, and to prevent becoming dull, I always made sure that I had some fun over the weekend. My engagement online on weekends is always low because of the fun activity I engage in, it is always an opportunity to recharge myself physically and mentally.

Our definition of fun is quite different from one another. While some people think it means hanging around with friends or going to parties, I choose to stay indoor and watch football. It might not sound fun to people who aren't a fan of football but any football lover can relate to the fun feeling these PL matches bring to us.

The English Premier League is my place to be on weekends, being virtually present in the United Kingdom is one of the best ways to enjoy the weekend and it has been like this for over a decade now. Back then, I spent most of my time on weekends at the football viewing centre but now, I can do that indoor and it makes the game more enjoyable for me. As I mentioned earlier, football makes my weekend great but unfortunately, there are weekends when there is no Premier League action and it makes the weekend quite boring.

The club leagues were on break over the weekend and nothing could fill the space for me. Although there were country matches but I find them quite boring except it's a tough fixture and didn't watch so I had to engage in another fun activity over the weekend.

In the absence of football, I choose to watch movies since I haven't done that properly in a long time. I used to see a lot of movies before but lost interest at a point, it was really bad that I couldn't spend an hour on a movie. It is either I have other things to do or I just sleep off while watching. It's boring to see the same storyline being repeated by different casts and the series gets boring after a few episodes but this weekend was different, I settled for movies since there was nothing else to do.

I started watching The Queen Of The South for over a month now and this weekend was the perfect time for me to finish the series and it was great. There were so many twists in the movie and unlike before when I always predicted the end of a movie, I was surprised at how it ended. Seeing Theresa Mendosa and her crew having a beautiful life after taking over the drug world wasn't something I thought would happen. I was nowhere close to predicting the end and didn't regret seeing the series.

Completing the series inspired me to see another movie titled Tomorrow's War. It's not a new movie but the storyline made me check and it wasn't bad either.

I remembered another movie review I saw on Hive a few weeks ago and also watched Nowhere. The movie made me emotional, what that woman went through before and after giving birth by herself in the middle of nowhere on the ocean was really unpleasant.

In simple words, my last 24 hours have been about movies. I honestly can't remember the last time I watched that number of movies within that time frame. If not for the football break, I wouldn't have seen the movie but I am glad I did.

Football resumes this weekend and God knows when I will properly see a movie again. I will return to the best place to be and activity to do on weekends. Thanks for reading.
