Late night: achieving personal development

Sleeping late at night can be beneficial in some cases because it gives you time to get things done but sometimes this can lead to bad sleeping habits.

I was fond of keeping late nights when I was in school and now when working. I must confess that late at night save me a lot, especially in school, sometimes, a lecturer might just pass a message about his impromptu test a day before, and then there are exams and also other things. I started keeping late nights right from secondary school, My SSS 1 precisely, I discovered I read and assimilate better at night than during the day.

When I started keeping late nights night, in secondary school, I became having trouble sleeping, this was the time I learnt about insomnia. I didn't even know the word existed. I was so scared of the thought that I have insomnia, I went to my mom. She made some enquiries both online and from doctors, and I had to change my routine. My mother helped me a lot and eventually, I overcame the problem. Perhaps I was at the early stage of insomnia or it was just a result of very bad sleeping habits, and I am happy am over it.

You never know how valuable sleep is until you find yourself unable to get some sleep, this helps you understand that sleep is good

how I stay up active at night

During my secondary school days and even at the university, I developed some tricks to help me stay active at night.

Firstly, I run all my activities during the day. I play and gist with my friends and everybody during the day. Then I sleep around in the night for a few hours and wake up again to read. I always use the study table and chair to read and not the bed. The day I mistakenly stayed on my bed to read, I woke up the next morning. To avoid this, I use my study table and chair. Another thing I do when reading is listen to music after a few hours, cool music, this has been helpful to me so far even now that am working. Also found out that eating something at night helps me stay awake, so at times I drink water or chew gum, sweets or junk, other times I even take a meal. One other thing I do is take my evening showers in the evening around 5 pm or 6 pm and not late at night, this helps my body to relax and helps me stay sharp after waking up.

Now that am working, my routine is a little bit different. I work during the day, and when I get home, I take my meals and sleep. When I wake up again, I still stick to my music but now I only take water, this is still very helpful to me. I turn the tv on if there is light too, the sounds do help me stay awake.

I would say keeping up later at night has been more helpful to me now that am working. Work takes most of my time and I hardly get free time except when I have off days. I am a fan of personal development, and late nights have helped me achieve this, hence, why i find it helpful.

Although I think sleep is vital for humans, especially us women, to keep us looking younger for as long as possible, 👑💄 I agree that time is not enough (one life is not enough for everything 😃) and it's great that you have developed a system to keep you awake to make up for the lack of time.

Sleep does make us look younger and more refreshing.

At times I wonder where the time is running to, 😁😁😁 one life is truly not enough for everything.

Indeed the importance of sleeping can't be overlooked at all but then, we all have certain things we find hard to achieve just during the day and so we employ our night to do the rest, hehe.

It's a good thing you now have a way of staying up at night and still getting some good rest, drinking water seems to be working well for most people, I will try that to see if it works for me, hehe.

Lots of things to achieve but not enough time and even the time seems to be running away. We need to device some means if we want to achieve somethings.

I hope it works for you but our body system is different, something else may work better.

Well I think the best way for me is resting prior to that time sha and so far it has been working for me, so it's fine, I just have to try this one and see how it goes.

You are always welcome dear ☺️

Even till now during day time, I don't dare to get close to my bed if I want to be serious with the task at hand...doing the task on bed is a direct trap😂😂.

So true, I thought it was only me. So many creative things pop into your mind then mostly because everywhere is silent and you can think straight.

We just have to find what works for us when it comes to engaging with activities during the night and finding the best position is the best. Sitting on a chair and table is ideal than sleeping on the bed because you will end up snoring. Lol

Knowing what works for us is the best. You see the bed is a trap, you rest for a minute next thing you know it's morning.

Yes lack of sleep is detrimental to the health. But at times we have to sacrifice it for other things.
