There's nothing more fun than trying to survive... right? [ENG – ESP]

“Trina, I hope you know I'm going to kill you after this, I will kill you.”
“For the millionth time, Amber, it wasn't my fault!”
The words bounced off the walls of the narrow hallway through which they were running in the dark until they got the dim light of a lamp on the ceiling, allowing themselves to rest for a second to catch their breath as they were about to reach their limit. Finding themselves gasping for breath at that moment made them doubt that physical condition of which they were proud, wondering if they had not been objective enough, but a part of them clung to the fact that no one could be fully prepared to face such a challenge they found themselves with without intending to.
A great roar was heard all around them to give way to the sound of rocks bursting and being crushed closer and closer to where they stood. Between insults they both set about the task of continuing their obvious flight, moving as fast as their legs could respond, a speed that proved to be insufficient when a burst of fire narrowly missed them. In such a hurry they had to choose without much thought the path they would follow, as the corridor had been divided into three possible ones, deciding on the left one almost by inertia. The floor began to shake as sections of the corridor crumbled in their path threatening to crush them.
“This was a lousy idea, why did I have to listen to you?” Amber asked without pausing.
“Now it's all my fault!”
“Of course it is, Trina, because it was your plan!”
A thick voice sounding through the walls interrupted their discussion.
“Those who dare disturb Gael's chambers will be punished.”
Trina snorted.
“And how the hell are we supposed to know that, you imbecile?”
“Trina!”
“You know what, fuck you! You and how many others are going to punish us?”
Seconds later they came to a room engulfed in darkness that was slowly lit by torches flaring on their own, allowing them to appreciate where they were. The stone walls had writings that they did not understand and some figures that seemed to be soldiers judging by their armor, swords, shields... immediately both had a bad feeling that was confirmed when they began to move on the walls as if they were waking up from a dream. In a quick reaction, Amber rushed to the side, avoiding being hit by the arrow that was heading straight for her head.
From the floor he could see that on the ceiling there were also figures but unlike the rest they had bows that were already being prepared to be used against them, so he got up immediately, taking Trina by the hand to drag her away from there in an attempt to escape from the ambush, but before they could reach the opposite corridor they had entered, they were overtaken by several soldiers who without contemplation or regard were ready to attack them with their swords. Anyone could believe that because they were made of stone they would be slow, but the reality was that they were having a hard time dodging the attacks, which came from all directions.
“This is unbelievable, dominated by a pair of stones with legs.”
Upset at being insulted, a couple of soldiers decided to focus on Trina so that she ended up trapped between the wall and her rivals with no chance of escape. Frustrated with the situation, she uncovered one of her arms, revealing a series of tattoos that upon contact with her hand began to glow an intense red at the same time as the irises of her eyes. Without needing to look where he touched, one of her fingers came into contact with the tattoo of a small sword that began to come out of her skin until it became a life-size one that she ended up wielding in her hand. She followed the same procedure to pull out a shield but from her other arm.
“Do you want some love, bullies?” She mocked, hitting the shield with her sword three times, an action that ended with four arrows being launched in her direction, two of which ended up in the wood of the shield that protected her face and two in the back wall, causing a big laugh to Amber that infected the soldiers. “You're crossing the line, Amber, you're supposed to be on my side. We'll see who laughs in the end when I tear them all apart, I'll use their remains to make me a giant statue to remind me of the exact moment I turned them to ashes.” In one movement she used her sword to cut off the hand of the soldier who was closest to her.
“Stop provoking them, Trina.” Amber reproached her, dodging an arrow while trying to keep her distance from the soldiers who were attacking her with their swords. Bringing one of her hands to her mouth, she bit her wrist until she drew a little blood, running her tongue over it. Immediately, the irises of her eyes, just as they had been with Trina, turned a shade of red. Extending her hands in the direction of the soldiers who were preparing to attack her again, Amber murmured firmly. “Repelix.” A reddish wave of power shot out from her hands, sending the soldiers backwards and crashing into a wall without being able to avoid it.
“That's what I'm talking about!”
Not wanting to be left behind, Trina attacked the soldiers again, this time moving quickly to the front in order to regain space. One, two, three, four, five consecutive moves ended with all the soldiers on the ground losing some of their limbs, the edge of the sword easily cutting through the stone without any damage suffered. Before she could claim victory, a soldier who had not noticed she was there appeared from behind her, being hit by a kick that sent her hard into a pile of books, losing her sword on the way. Without giving her time to retrieve it, the soldier snatched her shield, leaving her completely unprotected.
“Hey, hey, we can talk a little about this problem. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, can we be friends?” She asked sarcastically, offering him a smile.
The soldier answered her with a stomp in the abdomen that made her lose air and cough up some blood, even though she tried with both hands to remove the pressure that was about to break her ribs. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Trina touched a knife that she had tattooed on her finger to finally cut the foot of the soldier who fell when he could not find his balance. With Amber's help she got up from the ground between complaints, but it didn't matter how much it hurt to move, when they both heard a roar, they knew it was time to continue on their way, especially considering that the soldiers they were supposed to have defeated were now recomposing their parts.
“They're a bunch of sore losers.”
“Trina, shut up and run.” Amber said, sliding one of her arms behind her back.
“Sorry I hurt all over, unlike you, I did get hit.”
Looking at her for a second, Amber directed one of her hands towards Trina's abdomen, whispering.
“Tendis op remant.”
The reddish light from her hand spread across Trina's body from her abdomen, its effects reflecting in the way she began to run helplessly.
Again, the thick voice rang through the walls.
“Those who dare disturb Gael's chambers will be punished”.
“Yes, yes, we heard. If you haven't noticed... we're trying to get out!” Trina shouted, annoyed. “You think we wanted to enter your filthy cave willingly?”
“Insolent!”
The imposing voice rose so high that everything around them rumbled, a piece of the ceiling of the section they were crossing falling inches from Amber's head, who just stared at Trina in disbelief. Both of their hearts stopped when they looked back and found a giant yellow eye staring at them from the room they had left behind and hoped they would never return to. That seemed to bring them to their senses because they began to run with even more strength than they had been using, reaching what seemed to be a possible way out of the place that had caused them so many headaches.
“Trina, quick, quick, quick, quick, wings, a rope, a giant ladder, find something to get us out of here now!”
Frantic, Amber began to search Trina's body for a tattoo of any of the things she had mentioned before.
“Wait, Amber, you're going to undress me, calm down.”
“You'll pay for insulting us!”
The flames coming out of the hallway they had come through were not at all encouraging about the time they had available to get out of there unscathed.
“Tell that thing to calm down!” She shouted, continuing her search.
“Hey, kitchen with legs, calm down a bit, we're leaving!”
“Trina!”
“Why don't you pull a spell out of your sleeve? Help!”
“For the love of all that's good.” Annoyed, Amber extended both hands in the direction of the creature that was already showing its claws, trying to break the structure in order to get closer to them. “Fortis maxima incantum.” The wall around the opening they had come out of was covered with a faint red color and seconds later they heard many roars from whatever was on the other side. “That will give us a couple of minutes at most, Trina, I have no energy left for anything else right now, I need you to be someone responsible and look for that stupid tattoo once and for all before I regret marrying you, I mean it.”
“Please, we both know you love me.” Trina replied, holding her hand as a pair of wings began to sprout from her back, slowly lifting them off the ground. Clinging to each other, they headed towards one of those openings that were easily noticed in the upper part of the cave because of the light that passed through them, leaving there with no intention of staying a little longer to find out what was behind those walls and why he had wanted to turn them into his roasted version... without a doubt they had had one of the craziest experiences of their lives, apart from a good scare.
Si no lo has notado… ¡estamos intentando salir!
— Espera, Ámbar, me vas a desnudar, tranquilízate.

Wonderfully riveting!
Your dialogue is scintillating, your characters, charming, cunning and “tattooed” with magic.
Quite brilliant.

Thank you very much for your kind words, I am very glad that you found my story interesting.
I agree, I think I might have left some details tied up in this little story to try to avoid generating that feeling of incompleteness, maybe for example the reason why Amber and Trina were there in the first place... I will keep this in mind for a next opportunity, recommendations are always welcome, I like to try to improve every day in this beautiful passion that is writing.
Have a nice day!
This was an exciting and fun read, I was wondering why Trina was so overconfident until she was able to materialise weapons from her tattoos, and when Amber was able to fight too, using magic, I wondered why she was so cautious when it came to taunting the stone soldiers.
But, then again, each person is different, Trina actually reminds me of a friend when I was younger, I think everyone knows or can relate to the messer who seems to say exactly what's on their mind.

Thank you! The intention was to add humor and try to make it entertaining.
Trina never shuts up, it's fun for me to think about those people who say everything that crosses their minds even though it might not be a good idea.
There is something special about polar opposites who face the same situation in different ways but in the end help each other, that's Trina and Amber.
100% there is so much entertainment value in your story and a few badass moments!
Yeah, I always find it interesting to let characters chat, and work through a situation they both find themselves in, it can be so much fun to see what each of them says.

What an intense and action-packed story! I love this magical-fighting duo of Trina and Amber. Though I do wonder how they got themselves into the cave in the first place.
Trina's ability to create weapons from her tattoos is very cool. The inclusion of a powerful being like Gael makes me want to beg for a continuation of this story. Beautifully written! !LUV 🙂

I loved writing this story, in the background whenever I participate in these creative writing dynamics I create stories that leave me wanting more, I don't know if it's because I try to empathize with the characters and the stories.
Yes, I think I lacked some closure on the idea of why Trina and Amber were in that place, which frustrates me a bit because a good mention would have been enough, at least so that there was no doubt, but I'll keep it in mind for the next one.
I thank you for your kind words and comment, the support is much appreciated.
It's alright! The action part is gripping. You are doing great already and will do better with each story you write. Keep writing! 🙂

I'm glad you liked it! Stories that have magic in them are among my favorites, it's an element I love because of how broad it can be.
Hope you are well, have a nice day.
And you really handle it very well, at your ease, in detail. Thank you for the good wishes.
