Sing 2: ¡Ven y canta de nuevo! || REVIEW [SPA-ENG]

Este sábado con un montón de cotufas y muchos dulces me dispuse a darle el gusto a mi alma de revivir algo que tenia por completo olvidado: ¡VER PELICULAS!. En este mundo tan ajetreado y esta vida de adultos que nos labramos, me había resultado imposible ver pelis de estreno. Así que tengo una pila de títulos acumulados en una lista de "para cuando tenga tiempo" y ahora que he tomado a gusto unos días de descanso, entonces no aguanté dos llamadas de mi familia para sumergirme en esta comedia musical que Illumination y Universal trajo para nosotros.

Soy de los amantes del cine que pueden llegar a disfrutar de una buena secuela cuando lo vale. Y definitivamente este es el caso. También tengo gusto especial por los musicales animados, pero por estos exclusivamente. Lejos de lo que parece obvio, por ser cantante, no siento esa necesidad de ver musicales en "live action" como otros colegas, aunque definitivamente me encantaría participar en uno ja, ja, ja.

Sing 2 para mí es una joya, superando a la primera entrega que si no la han visto les cuento; trata de un elenco de cantantes que se formó en la cruzada de salvar un teatro de ser demolido. Su dueño, un koala con poblemas económicos ofrece un premio impagable por error, y todo se desarrolla entre los problemas existenciales de los participantes que luchan por su sueño de ser artistas. En esta segunda entrega, la necesidad de salir del pueblo y crecer ahora como una compañía productora de musicales los lleva a la gran ciudad donde hacen trato con un lobo bastante turbio, prometiéndole (nuevamente una promesa incumplible aparentemente) incorporar un león rockstar retirado y deprimido desde la muerte de su esposa, quien resultaba ser su mayor inspiración.

This Saturday, with a bunch of pop corn and lots of candy, I decided to give my soul the pleasure of reliving something I had completely forgotten: WATCHING MOVIES! In this busy world and this adult life that we carve out for ourselves, it had been impossible for me to watch new movies. So I have a pile of titles accumulated in a list of "for when I have time" and now that I've taken a few days off, I didn't take two calls from my family to dive into this musical comedy that Illumination and Universal brought for us.

I'm one of those movie lovers who can get to enjoy a good sequel when it's worth it. And this is definitely the case. I also have a special fondness for animated musicals, but for these ones exclusively. Far from what seems obvious, being a singer, I don't feel the need to see live action musicals like other colleagues, although I would definitely love to participate in one ha, ha, ha, ha.

Sing 2 for me is a gem, surpassing the first installment that if you haven't seen it I'll tell you; it's about a cast of singers that formed in the crusade to save a theater from being demolished. Its owner, a koala with economic problems, offers an unpayable prize by mistake, and everything develops among the existential problems of the participants who fight for their dream of being artists. In this second installment, the need to get out of town and grow as a musical production company takes them to the big city where they make a deal with a somewhat shady wolf, promising him (again an apparently unfulfillable promise) to incorporate a retired rockstar lion, depressed since the death of his wife, who happened to be his greatest inspiration.

Cada personaje tiene su historia bien lograda, con situaciones que a mi me tocan la fibra más intima. He llorado mares viendo cada una de ellas. Hay para todos los gustos, con todos los matices. Pero el fin máximo de todos, lograr sus sueños. Desde el Gorila que se enfrenta con un maestro de baile despreciable y envidioso, hasta la cerdita súper talentosa que es desplazada por una loba joven y con poco talento solo por ser la hija de alguien. O el director del teatro que con toda la esperanza en su elenco, recibe la negativa de la cazadora de talentos, quien sin medir la forma le dice que no sirven para eso.

De todo esto y más vemos en la cotidianidad de músicos, bailarines y todo tipo de artistas que quieren vivir del espectáculo. Hacerlo es una decisión para valientes. Y en efecto Sing 2 me satisface el gusto por las causas cuesta arriba. Porque a quién no le han cerrado la puerta en la cara, a quién no lo han hecho dudar de sus talentos, quien no se ha remontado de sus derrotas, sea cual sea el ámbito en que se desenvuelve. Nada mejor que lograr lo que el mundo dijo que no podrías. Es una película que deja un mensaje hermoso de fe en nosotros mismos.

Each character has his or her story well achieved, with situations that touch my most intimate fiber. I have cried my eyes out watching each one of them. There is something for everyone, with all the nuances. But the ultimate goal of all of them, to achieve their dreams. From the Gorilla who confronts a despicable and envious dance teacher, to the super talented piglet who is displaced by a young and untalented she-wolf just because she is someone's daughter. Or the theater director who with all the hope in his cast, receives the refusal of the talent scout, who without measuring the form tells him that they are not good for that.

We see all this and more in the daily life of musicians, dancers and all kinds of artists who want to make a living from the show. Doing so is a decision for the brave. And indeed Sing 2 satisfies my taste for uphill causes. Because who hasn't had the door slammed in their face, who hasn't been made to doubt their talents, who hasn't bounced back from their defeats, whatever the field in which they operate. Nothing better than achieving what the world said you could not. It is a film that leaves a beautiful message of faith in ourselves.

De todas las historias hubo una que me conmovió muchísimo y es la de la leyenda del rock, el león Clay Calloway. En principio les comento que vi la peli en español latino, entonces me encontré con un Chayanne muy ronco y mal humorado, que me causó mucha gracia al imaginarlo cantando "Torero" o "Salomé" con esa voz nada parecida a la suya. Bueno, Luego de ser convencido el personaje de participar en el show, estando en el escenario listo para cantar me hizo recordar un momento de la música latina que me causó un dolor increible. Recuerdo ver a José José en unos premios Grammy, con lo que quedaba de voz tratando de cantar, José José, quien fue para mí una de las voces mas bellas de la canción en español, (con el perdón de Luis Miguel), recuerdo ver a todos los que estaban ahí cantando con el, y recucerdo que no le hizo falta más voz porque ya habia dado su voz al mundo y así se la estaba devolviendo.

mi canto no será mi canto"

Así, Clay Calloway, recibió de su público lo único que necesitaba para volver a cantar, el mismo amor que les entregó en sus canciones. De verdad fue hermoso y me disculpan el Spoiler pero necesitaba comentarlo.

El elenco de doblaje latino estuvo bien chévere, las canciones si en inglés, así que disfruté de un león Chayanne/Bono y una puercoespín Ash/Scarlet Johansson que no es noticia nueva pero sigue sorprendiéndome cuando veo que además de todo lo que ya conocemos de ella, también cante ¡y lo haga tan bien!

The Latin dub cast was very cool, the songs were in English, so I enjoyed a lion Chayanne/Bono and a porcupine Ash/Scarlet Johansson who is not new news but keeps surprising me when I see that in addition to everything we already know about her, she also sings and does it so well!.
