Monomad: the process of sorting robusta coffee beans to be used as special seeds
Hello black and white friends, everyone
Today I went to one of the coffee farmers in the land area of Gayo, Central Aceh, Indonesia, I immediately went into the farmer's garden to see the process of sorting robusta coffee beans to be used as coffee seeds, there were two coffee farmers when I came to them, it turned out that they looked serious about sorting or separating good beans to be used as coffee seeds.
There are several stages of the process of separating good seeds, after they collect a few good coffee beans or those with many fruits, then the farmer pours all the coffee beans whose fruits are dense on a piece of cloth placed on the ground, to be used as good seeds, of course the coffee beans that are chosen have been red or ready to be harvested, It can be seen in some of the pictures that I can take today, the two coffee farmers separate the good coffee beans into small sacks and the sorted coffee beans are put into a timba.
Indeed, not all coffee beans can be used as seedlings in one hectare of coffee plantation, only a few stems can be used as special seeds, they are very careful to choose good coffee trees to be used as seedlings, because if you choose the wrong seed, then during the planting period the coffee seeds do not bear fruit, I salute the coffee farmers, They really worked to the maximum even though the sun was hot, their spirit never faded.
Below are some pictures of farmers sorting special robusta coffee seeds, let's see:
