With retiring the Share Your Battle weekly challenge, the Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge is live. I must say, the new challenge is much more competitive and challenging because it's not about a card but about a specific ruleset. And you have to fight more battles to pick one to share. Because not every time you will get the desired ruleset. Then again, it's not sure that you'll win that battle.
It's tough but it's fun writing though. I surely will miss the old Share Your Battle challenge.

This is the 11th week of this challenge and this week's Battle Mage Secrets challenge is about the Even Stevens ruleset.

Just like the previous challenges in this blog, I'll discuss about the Even Stevens ruleset and share the best battle playing in this ruleset.

A Few Words About The Even Stevens Ruleset

In the 'Even Stevens' ruleset, only monsters with even mana costs may be used in battles.

There are no special tricks for this ruleset, but if you have an idea of the mana costs of certain cards from active splinters, it helps you in predicting what cards your opponent could use.

It's all about the combination of the right summoner and monsters from the active splinter/s.There are some handy cards I use frequently when this ruleset is active. And that's all the trick here.

Now I'm sharing my strategy and the lineup for the best battle I won while the Even Stevens ruleset is active.

RULESETS

Mana Cap: 18
Rulesets:-
Even Stevens: Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.
Holy Protection: All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.
Active Splinters: Water, Death.

My Strategy and Team Setup

SUMMONER

Alric Stormbringer

Alric Stormbringer is my favorite summoner when playing with the magic attack-based team from the water splinter.

Team Setup

Whenever I play with this ruleset combo, the Ruler Of The Seas is my preferred monster (if possible). But in this low mana cap battle, I had to choose my monsters carefully.
In the first and fifth positions, I placed two filler cards, the Torrent Fiend and the Furious Chicken respectively.
In the second position, there's the Frost Lion, another low mana-cost card that act as a soft tank in low mana-cap battles.
The Spirit Miner is in the third position. With 'swiftness' and 'dodge' abilities, this card acts well against melee and ranged attacks.
In the fourth position, there's the Ruler Of The Seas. The main attacker and the most useful when the 'holy protection' ruleset is active.

Analysis Of The Key Factors Of The Battle

Speed was the most crucial factor to win this battle. It was very tough to choose the appropriate summoner and monster combo in this low mana cap battle. But the Ruler Of The Seas made my battle easy.
This card not only acts as a main attacker but also destroyed the divine shield of the adjacent monster/s with its 'blast' ability. And this is the reason why I prefer him in the first place when the 'holy protection' ruleset is active.
Then, the Spirit Miner (and the Ruler Of The Seas) made my team super fast and the enemy missed a few attacks. That's why I said that speed was the reason I won the battle.
Overall, it was a good strategy that brings me winning.
