SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! -- Grumpy Dwarf
so this week's challenge decided to dug up a monster card from the past
Grumpy Dwarf, an underestimated card i believe cause i hardly meet him in the battlefield as an opponent
this is one of my best cards speaking about the drawing and if you check on the SKINS section of Splinterlands you will find an even better version of this card
i just wish one thing
i just wish @Splinterlands administration could re-draw the whole collection with an artistic view closer to the SKINS
i just like much more these drawings
i don't know if it is a different artist but SplinterStorm's SKINS i do believe are much more better looking from the default ones
i don't know if there are any newbies read all these battle challenge posts of mine
i hope there are some of them out there cause they can find some pretty good information about how to built their team and what tactics they could follow
this battle , this specific battle is one of these posts i really hope to be read by newbies
you know , i got many messages especially in discord asking me 'how to make money playing Splinterlands'
i always reply, you have to understand the game actually comprehend the game
it is not just to put together some monster cards and to go battling...no guys not at all
if you play like this you will never become a skilled fighter
the best players always try to read their opponents and build a team against theirs
you have to learn how to read your opponent and understand what monsters he is going to use
it is not easy,it is very difficult but if you manage to reach that level you will be the ultimate fighter
the battle below was one of those i had to think like i describe above
before we get into battle details, the tactics and the strategy behind it, lets see the stats of this early
Neutral card Grumpy Dwarf

...Grumpy Dwarf's battle...
let me start with the battle rules
'target practice' gave all range and magic attack monsters the snipe ability while 'explosive weaponry' gave them blast..
while checking my opponent i saw he was using Yodin which means for me a major possibility to suffer a loss as i do have a Yodin in my deck and it is very difficult to confront such a summoner
but the battle rules were providing me a blast!, just like Yodin
so i had not only to use but abuse this 'blast' chance
the plan was to get rangers which were fast enough to attack first and a summoner to boost their attack power
here i wanna mention one thing, as you know there is a time limitation when you pick your team
many times because you are in a hurry to pick your monsters you miss-read or you forget the rules
i'm positive many of you understand what i say
in this battle i just forgot about the 'target practise' and i chose snipers and not just range attack monsters
anyway thank god it worked perfect
my mana cap was not too high, it was a medium mana battle
i was thinking to pick Rennyn but after a second thought i decided to go with Selenia Sky cause she needed only 3 mana points to be used
have you seen on market the price of a Selenia Sky?
don't bother , it is about $480
we are talking for an alpha edition Selenia of course
i had one more back in the days which i sold for $20
how stupid can i be!!
anyway Selenia is a very useful Summoner
just imagine the value of her when she was the only dragon Summoner
back in the days you could not use the dragon Splinter unless you owned a Selenia Sky
lets get back to our plan
as i told you i wanted to exploit the blast rule so i picked a team full of snipers
range attack snipers
Selenia would give the team the +1 attack power and i would create serious damage to my rival
because of that strategy i left with only 4mana points for my tank
so what was the case....what tank could i pick with only 4 mana points
so here is what i did
i got a furious chicken as a sacrifice card and in the second position i placed the Grumpy Dwarf as my main 'tank'....of course the Dwarf is not a tank ...he is a support monster with his reach ability but in this case he had to be the tank
i just hoped to be fast enough to play first
so the team was like that
first place, furious chicken as said sacrifice card
second place, my gold foil Grumpy Dwarf as 'tank'
third place, gold foil Mantoid sniper
fourth place another range attack sniper the child of the forest a very fast sniper as i wanted
in the fifth place i got the Royal Dragon Archer , an extremely scarce dragon sniper card, it was a promo card in the first Kickstarter when Splinterlands was still Steemmonsters
in the last place i picked the Centaur which i think was the right ranged sniper to complete the team
- Furious Chicken lvl 2
- Grumpy Dwarf lvl 3
- Mantoid lvl 3
- Child of the Forest lvl 1
- Royal Dragon Archer lvl 1
- Centaur lvl 3

the battle evolved according to plan
my monsters were fast enough to fulfill my goal and my poor Dwarf actually did his job protecting, more as a shield to Mantoid rather than a tank , the whole team
i was victorious and i got 60 ! DEC for this fight..almost $0.42 in my pocket for a single fight i think is more than a good payment!

Thanks for sharing! - @alokkumar121
You have powerful grumpy and your card placement is nice.
i consider the battle one of a kind cause i'm not actually using the dwarf as i was supposed to use it
in this battle he is just getting sacrificed for the team's sake !
