Dealing with Hike!

Have always wondered why citizens of my beloved country Nigeria complain about the poor economy, when You can find an average NIgerian flexing in ShopRite, Sizzler, Aj, Bar and Joints almost everyday especially Saturdays and Sundays, enjoying themselves. I mean if the country is that bad and prices are skyrocketing how do these people cope and enjoy themselves?

Recently there was this cashless policy that happened all over Nigeria, because of the change in some naira notes, there was scarcity of the new notes in banks and also the old ones. This situation actually made matters worse and it really hit the country very hard. Funny though, I still found half of my city lining up in Shoprite Dynasty club with credit cards like nothing was happening, don't look at me i went there just to observe.

I was actually coping with the expansion of price in markets, but with the cashless policy it was the intervention of God Grace I managed to scale through. What made it so bad was that most people started selling both old and new notes to their fellow citizens at a very high fee, people who can afford it bought the notes and people who refuse to buy their own currency in their country suffer the long hellfire queues in ATM stands and banks.
Hmmm me i had no choice but to join the sheeps, half bread is better than puff puff.

People all over the country were in agoning and in pain, simply because they had the money to buy what they wanted, it's just sitting in the account but they could not get the money out.

The case now was no longer Price escalation but Cash scarcity, you'll find yourself in debt not because you don't have the money to pay, it's right there in your bank account looking at you but you just cant bring it out because of cash scarcity. Let's not even talk about the Bank transfers and transactions that made people lost urge money during the cashless policy, that my friend is a story for another day

Price escalation i can cope with but with cash scarcity i just found myself shocking myself. Though the cashless policy i tos fading away people are still trying to recover from the impact it made.

Bygones be bygones The essence of struggling hard, trying to make money, is to survive by making ends meet. And by doing that you need to follow the wind whichever direction it blows you to. If there is an increase in price, deal with it. If there is a cashless policy or any other distraction flow with it, life is too short to get depressed over rubbish.

This is why you see countless people enjoying themselves , why you wonder if they aint affected with the situation of the country, I mean if you are always thinking about the current bad situation of Nigeria, one day you'll find yourself lamenting, complaining and nagging while walking on the road. Nothing will change without you struggling to survive with the rest of the citizens.

The pin point is, "Set a Goal, Have a plan not just A but plan B and so on, stay focused and be prayerful, keep working on that project to make more money" And you won't even be bordered if Nigeria is in the deep sea of Price escalation or goes cashless. Who knows, maybe one day we might bump into each other in a fancy restaurant. 😁

Canada uses very little cash and when I was in Iceland I never even saw an Icelandic Kroner. Using debit and credit can be a useful tool IF the networks are up and there aren't long lines at the ATM. I've heard this isn't always the case in Nigeria.

So sorry you had to go through that bad situation. Hope things get better there but from what I've been reading it could be a long road.

Everyone on the blockchain is given a certain amount of "RESOURCE CREDITS" (RC) that can be "spent" in publishing posts, writing comments, etc. Everything we do requires a few RC to accomplish, similar to "mana" or "gas" on other blockchains. We are given RC depending on how much HIVE POWER (HP) we have staked. If you don't have much HP, you will use all of your RC quickly. RC recharges at a rate of 20% each day.

You have been given a temporary delegation ("loan") of HP to provide you with a greater allotment of RC, courtesy of @theterminal's RC-assist project. We ask that you:

• do not plagiarize (steal or 'spin' others' work)
• remain active
• comment/upvote others' posts to build your network
• PowerUp rewards to grow your account, do not 'cash-out' to an exchange

You may check your RC any time at https://hiveblocks.com/@fredaig
The best of luck to you on Hive! 🙂

How pathetic a situation it would be when you own money but you cannot use it because it is locked in bsnk account.
By thinking about problems may become victims of depression so we develop resistance and acceptance for whatever is happens. And the corrupt government keeps on putting mire burden on us.

Recently I saw POS advertising N30 as charge fee which was in contrast to a N300/thousand that was seen barely 3 months ago .
There is money where there is money. I believe there is inflation and I also believe that some people are responsible for that inflation.

Great write up

!LOLZ 30 naira, wow of cause the citizens contribute big time to this, because they were the ones selling the currency to their fellow citizens, how did they get the currency to sell when there was scacity of cash. so sorry for the late reply had some low Rc

Cash scarcity could be a huge problem, especially where cash is the main medium to purchase things. Seems like price inflation is not a big issue in Nigeria. Most of the countries are facing price inflation, it is something that slowly causes problems for normal people.

Well Price inflation is still a big issue here in Nigeria for the low and middle class people, but not for the rich class people, never the less you wont hear them compline about it get along with life just fine like everything is ok, i would say most people prefer dying in silence. guess its all over the world and the government are not blame. so sorry for the late reply got some low RC

Yes ohh, when others are complaining complain with them even if things are good for you, that is what have learnt from Nigeria

Or else you invest in dollars, if inflation doesn't catch up to you, naira deterioration will. Though complaining about it can't help anyone but sometimes the struggle becomes so tough that you have no choice but to voice out.

And secondly, not everyone who goes to shopping malls and fancy restaurant are financially stable, some people are just addicted with going to those places.

That will definitely be the plan if I was in that situation. Having a few plans to make money and focus on them day in and day out. To a certain extent, we will not be overly affected by it.
