Hace pocos días les hable de Sebastien Loeb, un piloto del Campeonato Mundial de Rally (WRC), quien participó en diversas categorías del deporte motor global, siendo una de ellas la Copa del Mundo de Turismos, que anteriormente se conocía como WTCC y hasta este año se conoció como el Campeonato Mundial de Turismo (WTCR). Link&Co era una empresa importante quien tenía su equipo dentro de WTCR y quien ostentaba los mayores éxitos en los últimos años, pero tras estos fallos de neumáticos que los afectaron directamente, el equipo decidió no concluir el campeonato y retirarse de forma inmediata, por lo cual se tuvo que tomar la decisión y luego de todos estos inconvenientes de cerrar la categoría, pero luego de tantos años de historia, de muy buenas carreras y en algunos casos los mejores pilotos del mundo decidían participar en este campeonato de Turismo, así que la Federación Internacional de Automóvil decide crear una nueva categoría, que al principio pensé que es igual, al menos hablando del reglamento, pero lo cierto de todo es que los cambios anunciados son algo confusos para mí, pero lo importante de todo es que tendremos aún carreras de autos turismos, más allá que la esencia de la categoría cambie en su totalidad, tal vez se mantenga los estilos de los autos, pero hay que esperar noticias más certeras sobre esto.

Lo que si espero es que todos estos problemas vividos este año pasen al olvido, que los fanáticos de autos turismo vean sus tan ansiadas carreras, que los compuestos cumplan con las condiciones mínimas de seguridad, ya que ante todo lo primordial es preservar la vida de cada uno de esos pilotos que participan en los eventos para el deleite de las personas que les gusta ver lo que son carreras de autos profesionales.

Por último y menos importante es mencionar que el último campeón del Campeonato Mundial de Turismo (WTCR) fue el español Mikel Azcona, quien se mantuvo fuera de todo estos problemas de neumáticos y siguieran trabajando hasta finalizar la temporada. Azcona logró un total de 4 victorias en la temporada, además de otros resultados con la cual acumuló 337 puntos. En el segundo lugar del campeonato quedó el argentino Néstor Girolami a 83 puntos del primer lugar, una muy buena temporada por parte del latinoamericano. Yvan Muller quien fue uno de los pilotos referencia de este campeonato, no puedo terminar esta temporada todo debido a los problemas de compuestos y la falta de seguridad para los pilotos, por lo cual su equipo abandonó el campeonato.
